    Talking Saved about $30..........

by not going to McDonalds last night!! I was cleaning like a mad woman yesterday and really did not feel like cooking. I wanted to take the kids to MCD's, but the more I thought about it, I just couldn't justify spending so much on crappy food. We had boxed mac-n-cheese instead with peas and applesauce. And they were happy!! Thank goodness for self control!!

~I'm a mean old mommy. I'd rather the kids ate dry cereal for dinner than take them out for fast food. Good for you for making a real meal!(I'm sure they liked it better than dry cereal, LOL!)~

    That's great.

Yesterday we had a meeting - for my business. We decided to go to the restaurant early and get their buffet - it was Pizza Hut. I didn't want to spend the money but it was too far to go back home and we were doing other biz stuff. Anyway, the person that we were meeting there was the ONLY other person that showed up for our meeting. We started early. The bill came all together - I told her that and then she said she'd take care of it. YAY - saved us $16 or so (buffet and drinks). I had already been trying to figure out where to make it up in the budget.

Good for you for not giving in. I have been doing that some lately. It's hard to go stand at the fridge or freezer and come up with ideas - I think that's my downfall. Hmmm, maybe I should go RIGHT NOW and figure out what we'll do for lunch and supper today.

Good for you! We fell into the trap of picking up fast food frequently when the kids were little... there was always a good reason... But, one comment I remember a friend saying to me was, "My idea of fast food is to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich." I think of that comment often, and you know, it is so true. I still battle the urge to go out to eat, but am taking it one day at a time. You did well!

That's awesome!!!! You'r a MUCH stronger person than I am.

'Cause I actually broke down and had a McDonald's dinner this week.
Of course afterwards I regretted it, because, believe it or not, I've not eaten at a McDonald's in about 2 years.
But for some reason I was actually craving some of their french fries?

I dunno. But that McDonald's trip was enough to hold me over for another couple of years.

Great Job! I haven't been doing so well in the eating out department. I'm pregnant and the only thing that really sounds appealing is McDonald's chicken nuggets and fries. I swear, I've eaten more fries since I've been pregnant than in the last four or five years combined. I just know that I can keep those items down and not get sick. Yuck, I know!

Good for you! We don't eat fast food very often at all anymore. But we have this cafe habit...tea with friends you know. And if DH is along, a sweet of some sort. Sigh... We're heading on a day long trip Monday. I'm trying to think of things to take with us so we don't have to eat out. It's lovely weather for a picnic...
