Great haul--monthly food package!
Went to pick up my monthly food package (similar to Angel Food Ministries) today and brought in a haul of good stuff: fruits and veggies, pork loin chops, package of meatballs, pizza, chicken, etc. Does anyone else just get giddy when stretching your food dollar?!?!

Monthly coupon/valued customer savings = $14.08
No wasted food!
Stick to budget!

9. Make 2 Christmas gifts per month: 0/24.
10. Get our home organized: use a receipt book, keep my coupon organizer in check, have a touch-once policy for paper (touch once and then file or toss).

Yep, I do! Congrats.
You reminded me that I wanted to order Angel Food this month (it was a really good menu), but I forgot. I think I'll go see what the August menu looks like.

Congratulations on your great haul!

I'm leaving in a little bit here to go help at our church with the Angel Food Ministries distribution for today. So far, I haven't been able to afford to get in on the good deals, but hopefully soon I will be able to spare the $30 to get a package. Until then, I feel good about helping get the packages together for distribution!
I'll come back and post the next distribution's menu for our area, I believe it's similar across the country. I'll have it in my hands later today.
Taking DS16 fishing later this evening, once it gets cooler and the wind dies down a bit. Found a local campground that will let us rent a boat for $5 daily pass plus $2.50/hr to rent the boat - so for about $15, DS16 and I can have several hours of outdoor fun, and possibly bring dinner home, to boot!

I wish we had something like that around here. We don't. I do occasionally go to our local food pantry but that's about it.

Absolutely giddy but though I'd love to do the Angel Food boxes, I don't eat meat so it wouldn't really be worth it to me.
So glad you did so well.
Love,
Jen

I have looked at Angel Food's menu for the past six months and have really felt I could do better with my $30 than they are offering. Maybe it's just me, but I feel the price seems high for what you get.

Wow. That's pretty great. My mom used to get all her meat in a bundle from the local deli but that's just really cool!

I like Angel Food boxes because it complements really well what I can do with coupon tricks and drugstore rebates.
One basic box is sufficient for my husband and I, it was too much the time we got a "special" box in addition to main box. (Daughter is away to college.)
There are a couple of items I've put in the food pantry box at church because we didn't care for those products, but, well, that's fine. Consider it sharing the blessing.
