Default A few frugal things I did this weekend

I dried my clothes outside on my drying rack. Well, all but the one load DH got too before I did. I have been wanting to get a clothes line, but he has been bucking me on it cause he doesn't want "stiff clothes." I decided this weekend to show him that they aren't going to be stiff. I think it worked quite well, but he won't admit it.

I also boiled, picked and froze 2 chickens and the broth for meals soon to come. And I baked 3 dozen chocolate chip muffins for breakfasts and snacks this week. I also made up some chocolate chip cookie dough to be able to throw some cookies in the oven a few at a time this week.

Not a whole lot of frugal goings on, but I have say "go me" occasionally.

Those cookies do sound good and you did a great job with being frugal . I did some frugal things this weekend too: I sewed the strap of my shoe back together and it's as good as it was before . I decided to give up using plastic shower liners for good and I have been using just a cloth shower curtain for the last few days and it works fine and dries quickly. I saved $5 at the grocery store this evening by clipping coupons. I planned all our meals for the week and purchased all the ingredients to complete these meals. I hung up all of my work clothes instead of using the dryer (they dried overnight and they are now hanging in my closet).

that chicken will come in handy during the week, did you get it for a good price? And baking muffins instead of eating out is a big savings as well. And what a time saver too. great job!

Not only a frugal thread, but motivational as well.
I think I will be planning on getting some things done ahead this upcoming weekend, since school starts the following week and things like muffins & cookies would be great for lunchboxes.

I really do need to start hanging out my laundry, I *have* a clothesline since we moved into our new house, but I just haven't utilized it.
I know, I know, bad me. But with having my laundry downstairs, it'll be a bear to get it all carried up wet and hung out.
Excuses, excuses. But I think I will at least do it with a few loads and see how it goes.

Oh & as for cooking the chicken? The easiest no-fuss way to do this is the throw it into the crockpot with a small amount of chicken broth.
Depending on the size of your crockpot, you can do a pretty good amount at one time.
This way, your kinda freed up to do other things, at the same time.

    Thanks for the inspiration, Mrsokdee!

Not a great price .79 lb, but not a bad price either. I ended up using some of it to make chicken and rice last night. It was pretty good.

This weekend I made chocolate chip and butterscotch chip cookies. The butterscotch chips stretched the chocolate chip dough out to 3 dozen.
I also learned how to grind my own wheat flour and make bread. I've been making our own bread daily in a bread machine for last 3 weeks. Not having to run to the store for bread has cut down on gas as well!
Clipped coupons and checked weekly ads.
Today cleaning out the upstairs and getting ready for our community sales in 2weeks.

I can't wait until it's not 105 degrees outside so I can start trying to make bread again. I've tried twice and didn't like the results either time. Since then it has gotten so hot that I just haven't been that interested in trying.
