I feel your pain. We're giving dd17 $300.00 for her clothes, hair cut and shoes. We have to give my 17 sd $200.00 for gas money to get her back to MN, pay our support and give her some clothes money and then we still have dd7 to buy for. I'm glad it's only once a year.

We did pretty well this year, I think. I spent $100 on DS #1 but I didn't buy him new shoes yet. We spent $50 on DS #2 and his grandparents bought him another outfit plus two pairs of shoes. Both are using old backpacks and they both have winter coats that still fit them, so we're ok. They got new hats and mittens at Christmas and when my mom sent stuff after Christmas, so that part's secure too.

I may have to pull out of the EF but I don't wanna! That money's there for a reason!

I am so feeling you. I have to give my college dd $150 every month, I already bought their school supplies, and got thier hair cuts and my college dd got 12 nice American Eagle, gap, etc button downs at Goodwill for $1.49 each so I was proud of her for that!

Can you just buy enough to get them through August and then maybe pull some from the September BUDGET so the EF is secure? It is so hot right now, can jeans wait a month???

I already have the schools supplies. My twins needed uniforms for school. Got a call from a friend she brought me uniforms for both kids. So that was a real blessing.

i know alot of public schools require uniforms now here too.. in fla.. my cousin was telling me that her siblings that are younger do a hand me down thing. since they grow so fast they just pair with a parent from the year or two younger and get to hand down clothes or get hand me downs. for the most part they buy 1 or 2 new shirts the whole year.

I have a $300 budget with my pre-schooler, hehe.. Toddlers grow WAY too fast.. Did some JCPenny shopping though - they always have 15% off on your next purchase if you fill out a survery online - love those!! But finding jeans and shoes are a pain in my booty lately.. oy- Can't wait for the teen years with three girls.

Yesterday morning I went to the ATM and pulled out exactly $300 and took the kiddo school clothes shopping. I had prepared our budget for that amount and refused to go over it. He just about outgrew everything from last school year or it's something I made last from the previous year so he was due a complete wardrobe overhaul. He's starting middle school and so now I have to include gym clothes. I was thankful to come across some great sales and clearance at jcpenneys, bealls and target so I took advantage of them. I think he's good on clothes now for awhile, but it has been awhile since he's gotten a lot of new clothes.

    We ended up getting
6 pairs of jeans (a few were $40 bucks on sale for $12!)
    4 pairs of shorts
    8 tshirts
5 polo type shirts (these were reg $19.99 $8.99)
4 button down shirts (that had tshirts with them, bonus!)
gym clothes (3 shorts, 3 pants, 6 shirts)
2 packages each of underwear and socks
3 pairs of shoes (everyday school sneakers, shoes for gym and a nice pair of dressier shoes)

Doesn't seem quite so much in print but laid out on the bed de-tagging it all last night I was quite proud of myself.

Shoes right now are BOGO half off at Bealls so anyone with kids needing shoes and you have a Bealls nearby check them out.

Ugh! School shopping! $300 sounds like a good limit to me. I think that is more than I am spending on my children, but they do not need much. Shoes are the main thing we are going to be buying next weekend. Have fun shopping!
