Default Some help with locating a product please!

Well, I headed out to get dhs belt--ok ok it really was hanging by ONE thread.

I have had my car parked--still had a full tank from the 6th so yeah me.

I called him on my way out to tell him I was off to get his belt and to please stop whining like a baby! He had a good laugh to say the least.

I went ahead and went to Sams and got 2-30 roll packs of Scotts tp and an 8 pack of kleenex. One tp is for us. The other for my college dd and the kleenex is hers too.

I also picked up a 6lb peanutbutter as dd and I wanted to bake peanutbutter cookies to snack on and I was out of PB.

I also got chili powder because I make my own mix of taco/chili seasoning that I keep in a quart sized canning jar and a big honking baking powder that I can refill with more as I buy it. I like the container alot! I did get a 6 pack of spray bottles for my cleaners.

I spent $70 something but it was in the budget.

So, I was out so I ran by Albertsons to find fels naphta soap and arm and hammer washing soda to do my own laundry soap---nope they didn't have them. I already have borax.

Went to walmart and got dhs belt and ammonia for homemade cleaners. They didn't have the soap or soda either.

Went to Super One foods and found the soap but no washing soda. Got 5 bars of the soap for under $7.

Went into the drug store next door--none their either.

I came home and looked online. Sure it's cheap but the shipping--yowsa!

Where are you ladies finding the arm and hammer washing soap??

Can I just us cheap oxyclean instead--it has the same stuff in it?

Does the homemade work in front loading HE washers in cold water?

    Thanks!

See now, after all that, I was expecting you to say that DH never got his belt!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I don't know where you live but I get it at Cub Foods. Our Target and Walmart do not have it. I have a front load Maytag and it works great in cold water. The only thing I would say is that unless you want to push it through the designated area for detergent I would just put it on top of the clothes before you close the door. Even with that little rush of water it still doesn't all go through by itself. Hope that helps.

I was told it would negate my warranty to use homemade or anything not made for front loading HE washers....

or maybe thats just what dh said to stop me from making more homemade stuff again....he'd rather spend the $10 on a big jug of detergent that will last 2 months.

I don't use fels naptha. i use Sunlight laundry soap (100% pure) that I find with the laundry detergents, bleaches, etc. at Superstore.

I have a front loader HE washer and my understanding is that the fel naptha make NO suds--the enemy with front loader washers.

    I bought 5 bars for $1.15 each.

I found the washing soda and got 4 boxes cheaper than online with shipping charges.

Borax I find easily here in all my shopping stores.

I am hoping to make up my first batch of liquis soap tomorrow but I also am dying for some gumbo so I wonder which I will make or maybe both!
