I mainly stockpile what we really need. When I do get things free we won't use we use in gift baskets or donated.

I did buy "70 plus bottles of Shampoo" for free I might add matching coupons w/sales.. I'm a family of 6 and I would rather pay nothing then pay for something with my hard earned money ..And I did buy 60 plus bottles from one store..I don't have a problem with it and don't care if someone else has a problem with..I have a family to that comes first before anyone else! Do I have an addiction to coupons...yes I do..however it has benefited my family greatly as well as my brothers and their families.. I " Do Not Sell My Stockpile For A Profit"......BTW Shampoo doesn't go bad no matter what the bottle might say..I've gotten 100's of body washes plus shampoo (for free) that i've been using for years now that are at least 5 yrs old..So don't always believe what the expiration date tells you on bodywash, shampoo's and cleaning products..

I don't have a huge stockpile now but when my sons were at home I used to but T.paper by the caseload, when the popsicles went on sale a the start of summer I'd get 12 boxes, and chef Boyardee lived in my pantry......though I recently bought 150 cans cat food... it was such a good deal,I came home with 2 cases and my DH sent me out for another 2 cases.I also used to stock up on school supplies and I still have a package of lined paper and my sons have been out of school for 15 years.I think as long as you know it will get used there's nothing wrong with stockpiling

I will also state that I am addicted to the thrill of the bargain and stockpiling! I am not ashamed of that at all! I have gotten about 15 monitors that I was paid at least $15 ea to take. I donate them to senior centers. Then I use that $$ I was given to take these out of the store and buy my family milk, cereal, etc.
My stockpile is not huge, but let me tell you when I was out of work and in pain after several surgeries last year and the beginning of this year (for months at a time), it was a relief both emotionally and financially to be able to live off of that stockpile!
I do not buy items I will not use, cannot give away, or use as gifts. But I will absolutely "buy" a food item "just because it is free". And I will get several. Because there are times when I will be glad to have that on hand when I would love to fill the oil tank.
I do not hoard or utilize gluttony. I plan for the usefulness of these items. Why would I pay full price for an item 2 weeks after I could have gotten it for free?

I do think I might start looking for coupons when my neighbors put out their recycling. I don't want to buy the paper. But I wouldn't mind free shampoo. I don't have the space for 70 bottles though, LOL.
What I meant when I say that I wouldn't take something free that I wouldn't use, I didn't mean shampoo. Let's say that I could get Betty Crocker Brownie mix for free. Sale and coupon. Well, I wouldn't buy it because that means I'd eat a ton of brownies, which I don't want to do. Shampoo is different. I just bought a bottle for $2.50, which was on sale, but I could probably do better, yes?

I got two of the blood glucose monitors for FREE the other week only because 90% of my family has to test everyday.. two of my family members were THRILLED with a new monitor that worked easier for them! =) I don't think I'd get any free things I would never use or didn't know anyone who needed it..
I only coupon for things I need.. but it IS addicting.. I don't think I'd ever get so much of an item I would never use it in 2-3 years though, LOL!!

I do'nt really have the space for too much of a stockpile, I do have about 100 rolls of toilet paper and enough soap to last us for the next two years, we don't really have an couponing in australia so when I see a really good deal I grab it and get enough to last us until next time I see a good deal on it so that I can stock up again.
When TP costs us about $6 a fortnight and I don't have to buy it then I have just saved myself money every week until it has run out.
If I had more room, then I would keep more of a stockpile but it if that was the case I would definately have to regulate myself and it would probably take a lot more organisation on my part thats for sure.
I can see how it could get out of control.Debt 1 - Paid in Full (originally $750)
