Actually, I don't know whether it is fair to say that I scored it, since a friend scored it for me, but I am still the happy recipient. My VCR died last week, and I am 3 weeks into a really good habit of doing a certain exercise video. A friend, who had the dubious joy of listening to me grouse about the fact that all of the plain VCRs seem to have shipped somewhere else in the universe, happened to be visiting another friend who had a VCR sitting on his deck - yet another friend had given it to him when he was very ill, and he does not use it and was going to discard it, so friend 1 told friend 2 that I was in need of one and he sent it to me. The original owner, friend 3 (more of an acquantiance in my case) is rather well off, and was happy to give a gift to friend 2, who was happy to have it be used and get it out of his very small house, and friend 1 is happy that he no longer has to worry about whether I'm going back on my grumpy-stick about things becoming unavailable in a surprisingly short time! I'm the big winner though, I can keep up my good habit and didn't have to spend a dime!
