Default WWYD..RE above ground pool and $$$

My DH wants to buy a above ground pool for the family, it is 2 months old and a $3,000 pool,, we found on Craig's List for $1,200 plus it would take $100 in gas to get it...
The price is a good price, this is a 18 round and we would like a 24, but we are talking more $, should we buy this one and be happy we have something for the 4 of us, we live in GA so we have a few more months to enjoy, or do we save up for a 24 round that we would be very happy with and buy next year? TIA

DS is 3 year's old and DD is 6 weeks old, so DS would be the one enoying this year. tia

For me it would depend on how much more the 24 would cost. If we're talking 2x the price for a 24, then I'd be happy with the 18. But, if it's just a few hundred dollars, I'd hold out for the 24.

I would wait until you have enough money to buy the pool you really want

my self from owing a pool l would save up for a new pool you really dont know what you are getting being a used pool. our pool is a large oval shape sorry l dont know the right size, the biggest one they make and we had to replace the liner this year that was only 2 years old (dog fell in the pool) the cost was with tax $800.00 and to fill it back up with water another $350.00 then to put a fence around so the dog couldnt fall in again other$400.00.so yes buy new on this one

Wait until you can get what you want...our first pool was 18 and it was way too small...we upgraded to a 24 a few years ago, much nicer...also if you are taking this pool down be careful, sometimes the liners get cracked when you remove them and have to be replaced

I am going to agree with the rest.
However, that IS a great deal. If you're willing to take down and install on your own. I'd say.. go for it.
    Get you're money's worth.
On the other hand... I do believe that if you save for something you really want - then you'll be happy and the money will be well spent with years of service.
I only wanted an inground pool. I had to save a few years to get it - but I did. (went to public swimming areas in the meantime - but 10 years later it serves us well - no need for a vacation in the summer... just go outside)

I would agree; save for the pool you really want.

I'd wait & save too. The way some things are going you may find having that money around and not spent might be a good thing. That said, who knows, a better pool deal may just fall into your laps while you are waiting.

I would wait and buy the pool I really want. That is however a good deal. Good Luck with your decision!
