Default Fell off the wagon...kind of

Finally back on board after hubby's vacation. We went to the Adirondacks for 5 days, DH's family has a camp up there, so very frugal, just had to bring up our regular groceries for the week. The kids loved fishing and swimming everyday, and they didn't miss TV, or computers at all!! We did go out to dinner one night because it was our anniversary, just to the local pizza place, but other than that it was a very inexpensive trip. After we came home we took the kiddos the the Strong Musuem of Play in Rochester, which was expensive to get into, but soooo worth it. We all had so much fun there!

I feel overwhelmed though with our finances, it seems to always go to the back of my mind when DH is here, even on the weekends. I definetly have some tidying up to do. Getting ready to do some school shopping today...ugh. After that it's time to buckle down again.

I'm glad to be back on the boards, it really helps keep me on track!!

Hi Mandy, I'm Melinda. Glad you had a fun and frugal vacation. We have had medical tests lately which add up to big, extra expenses so time to buckle-down for us again as well. We are re-doing our bathroom but we have the $ saved. Labor Day weekend will be expensive, DH has a yearly trip to the races and kids go to huge downtown festival, but we have $ already planned for that. There are ALWAYS extra things that come up though!

It sounds like it was a wonderful trip! Welcome back.

How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

Sometimes I find it harder to be frugal when I have my DH around too. I let myself be swayed by his mood too much. It's a good thing you had a nice vacation and trip to the museum. Some things are worth paying for. Welcome back to the board!
