Proud of myself (^_^)
The other day I was thinking about how I love that the house we moved into has a shelf in the laundry room with a bar under it where I can hang clothes. My husband keeps all of his clothes in there and it's nice to just take clothes out of the dryer and then hang them up.
Well today I did things a bit differently.
I took things out of the *washer* and put them on hangers on the bar. Then I used my drying rack outside of the basement door to dry the load of towels that I did.
I bought my drying rack well over a year ago and always said that I was going to start hang drying clothes, but never really did. I'm so proud of myself for today! Now all I have to do is keep this up lol. We could set up a line outside, but right now I like the system I just started
Just wanted to share

That's great and I'm sure you'll notice a money savings not using the dryer as much

Great Job! I hung my clothes out one Saturday a couple of weeks ago. It was nice, but I only have 2 drying racks and 9 people to wash clothes for. It just didn't work so well for me then. Once I get all my laundry caught up this weekend I'm going to try again. I usually wash a few loads a day since I'm home all day again. I'll try hanging them up outside on my drying rack. Hopefully that will work and I can give my dryer a break. If the winds don't come sweeping down the plains and blow them over I think it will.

Great job. My dh hung up 2 metal bars in my basement for me to hang clothes up to dry when it was to bad outside. I used skirt hangers to hang towels as well as jeans and skirts. I used wire hangers with clothes pins attached to hang underwear, socks, washclothes and other small items to. They took them down when we had ch&a put in so I've got to have him put them back up elsewhere in the basement. It works like a charm and really saves money. I've been down for 5 months and haven't been able to even hang my clothes out (I had a bad fall) so I've been having to use my dryer all the time.

You SHOULD be proud of yourself! Too often, we dismiss the little things we can do to save $$$. All those little things add up to a lot of savings. Keep up the good work!
How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

I agree with the others -- you SHOULD be proud of yourself. I started doing the same thing a year ago and now rarely use my dryer. Not only do I believe my clothes are in better condition, but I ended up saving a TON of money from my elec bill each month.
Once I got into the routine of hanging my clothes, linens, towels after washing, it just seemed like that was what I should be doing.
I'm thrilled for you -- glad you didn't put it off any longer.Jen

Thanks everyone! You guys can't even believe how much this is going to save me...I had a horrible habit of forgetting clothes in the dryer over night. Which meant having to put them on a heat cycle for a few minutes the next day to get the wrinkles out before I could get them out. Essentially if I was doing 5 loads of laundry per week I was probably using enough energy to do 7 loads
...I know, bad christina! But with hanging them up they're already on the hanger so no risk to forget to take them out of the dryer lol
