    Smile This frugality business works!

Woooo Hoooo! Well, after a month of being hard core frugal dh got his paycheck deposited so I sat down to write out all of the bills and figure out what was going to come out of this check. And can I just say the frugality paid off big time! We have enough for all of the regular bills, some unexpected doctor bills, and to put a big chunk toward the build up our EF all in one pay period. All of the spending I have to do for the next few weeks is covered PLUS there will be EXTRA left over! But the most gratifying of all was all of the grumbling dh did while I had to tighten the purse strings he took a look at our account and thanked me for how I was handling everything -- he even apologized for giving me a hard time. Sometimes it's not easy, and I feel like the heavy always being the one to say "No lets just eat at home" or whatever but it is really starting to work and dh is getting on board.
And a HUGE THANK YOU to this board -- it has seriously kept me on track and inspired when this whole frugal business starts to feel really old!!
Now for the real test to stay on track and keep it up! FV don't fail me now!!!

Just wanted to say that's awesome for you!!

If you wanted to make some of the sacrifices seem not so big...especially favorite resturaunts... think about your favorite dish there. Then remake it at home. For instance, my fav soup at Olive garden is Zuppa Tuscana or something like that. I found an at home recipe for it that we love. I can make a whole pot of it cheaper than we can buy a bowl of it!! Just an idea.

That is so funny that is our favorite soup as well. Dh makes a great knock-off mmmmmm good idea we haven't had that in a long time. Hmmm may have to add the ingredients for that to my shopping list!

Way to go! You guys should be proud of yourselves.

Hey, I do the Olive garden knockoff dishes too. LOL I have made a pretty fair duplicate of one of the soups, and the alfredo sauce, as well as their salad dressings.

Also great to hear your hubby is on board too. That makes a ton of difference I would think .

Great work! Keep going! It's great that your DH is getting on board. Those numbers don't lie. Congrats, and isn't this place the best inspiration? I do soooo much better when I read posts like yours.
