budget cooking
i just came across this and hope this helps some.
i'm definitely gonna take a look at it myself.

i was looking for a cookie recipe and saw the tab at the top of the page called "Budget Cooking"...
lotsa ideas & tips. many common sense & stuff we talk about here (freezing, stock-piling, etc.) but recipes nonetheless!
wanted to share.

Thank you, after 37 years of marriage I am definitely looking for some new recipes. Especially the ones for just 2 people.

Interesting site. Good videos and ideas. I must admit though, the article on a meal for $10 had me laughing. I allow $5 per day per person for all meals. That's $10 per day for DH and I. I think, looking at the instructions, this site is really aimed at the working mom who hasn't time to do much scratch cooking. I'd be making my own tortillas and grating my own cheese...but I have the time for that.

everything budget seems to call for beans.
not happening here . DS is allergic to them.

Thanks for that- I liked all the different subcatagories (the pantry ones always give me a new insight on what I should stockpile!).

I agree with peanut. I'm an Allrecipes fanatic, I use it almost every day. I checked out what they called budget cooking a few months ago and thought it was a HUGE joke! What they consider budget cooking, I consider extravagant spending. I think they are considering it budget conscience in comparison to eating in a restaurant!
Although, I won't knock allrecipes...like I said, I totally love that site!

I just bought a ton of whole chicken because my store had it for .79 cents a pound. We have had it roasted but I didnt really know how to take it apart. Thanks http://allrecipes.com/HowTo/Cutting-...en/Detail.aspx
