    Default Cold weather :(

    The weather in my neck of the woods has slowly gotten colder - autumn is on the way for sure. We've had frost some mornings and yesterday morning I had to dig out my scarf to wear to work

    So, how's the weather in your neck of the woods? Has it gotten cold enough overnight so you had to turn the furnace on? We turned ours on last week....and had a fire in the fireplace on Sunday. It was cold!!

    Any one else slowly gearing down for autumn/winter?

    We haven't turned the furnace on, but I did sleep in flannel last night!

    a/c is still on and ceiling fans. Ike is causing some cooler rainy weather but it will be high 80's and low 90s for a while yet.

    I am in shorts and sleevless top.

    It's been in the low 80's here but today it's rainy and in the low 70's. No frost or need for heat yet, but by the first of October we will probably have to build a fire to ward off the chill at night. The leaves are just now starting to turn here though!

    It has been getting chillier in Michigan too. This morning I put the flannel sheets on all of our beds. Right now I'm washing all of our blankets that we keep in our living room for the chilly nights.

    Yes winter is definitely letting us know it is on its way sooner rather than later. Here we are starting to have frost warnings, I don't open the windows and doors until around lunchtime. I am slowly getting the flannel sheets on beds and rounding up our extra blankets. We have cable ceiling heat which I haven't had to click on yet but I am sure that I soon will. I love Autumn, it brings out the nesting homemaker in me! I hate winter though and unfortunately our winters last about 6 months.

    We're lucky if our daytime high gets to 15C (59F)...our nights hover around the 0-5C (32-41F). Dont get me wrong, I dont mind it, I love the fall....but so soon!

    Sometimes I think our weather dependant on the calendar:
    -July 1st and it gets rainy;
    -August 1st and its hot;
    -September 1st and it gets cool, etc.....

    I wish!! Still high 90's here in north-central California.

    I *am* gearing up for winter, however, as last winter we lost power for four days. The only thing that got me through was my wood stove and a holding tank full of water!! I have already gone out and re-stocked on propane fuel. I am hoping to find a low-cost propane camping stove, but that would be a luxury, as the wood stove really did the trick last year.

    It is still in the 90s here. We are still running the A/C. I can't wait for it to cool off a little bit.

    Starting to close the windows here at night in s. NH- and I like it cooler than most to sleep. Debating when to bring the down comforter to the cleaner's to get spiffed up before we throw it back on.....expecting first frost this week.

    You are colder than I am. It was around the upper 50's this morning and now it is in the upper 60's. We haven't turned the heat on yet but my husband is giving the pellet stove a thorough cleaning as I am typing. I just love not having the air conditioner on at night and I am sure my wallet does too. Stay warm.

    Monnerin the air.
