Default Wow how fast things can change

I think I posted that my husband had gotten a raise and that he works at a job that is as about secure as one can be at this time. We (my husband and I ) had even discussed the other night how lucky we were. Well one thing we do not have is health insurance. Today my husband had his doctor's appointment. He has a blood pressure and a small heart problem. He had went for blood work on Monday--$160 and then todays appointment--$80. Now those are not that bad but he was told today that he needed to see a heart specialist and have a nuclear stress test. Can we say $$$. He came home and set down and cried! He is so worried about us (as in Myself and the kids) having to give things up. I told him that I didn't care what we had to give up and that I am sure the children feel the same way. Anyway, I am going to have to get real with the budget and frugal living. I will be here more and more and plan to post my steps and things I am doing to try to save money. I am sorry this has been so long I just had to vent more than anything. Please keep my husband in your prayers I am really worried about him.

I will keep you in my thoughts. I can relate because we don't have health insurance and my dh has some health issues the he ignores because he doesn't want to spent money.
Big hug,, your dh sounds a like mine.

Big ((hugs)) going out to you, Jeanna. Is it possible that y'all can find a specialist who will give a discount for payment in cash? Also, perhaps you can make payment arrangements for the test. Explain the situation and ask his doctor if he/she has any suggestions. Good luck and hang in there.

Sending good thoughts and prayers your way. I would also tell your DH that giving things up so he can be healthy is what ANY person would do, I am sure your children would also agree.

God Bless and keep us posted.

What a great site. Unfortunately we are just a small amount above the guidlines. This seems to always to be our problem. If he hadn't gotten the raise we would have qualified. Ugh!

Best of luck to you through this difficult time.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
