    Default water heater cover?

I've heard that you can save money on electricity by covering the water heater. I'm afraid this will start a fire. Do they make items specifically for this purpose or are you just supposed to use a blanket? Thanks!

You can buy blankets for water heaters at Home Depot or Lowes or support your local family operated hardware store.

Definitely do not just use a blanket. Use properly rated fireproof material.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

by the way, some heaters recommend not using a blanket. Check your owners manual.

We have one on our water heater. I really don't know if it makes that much of a difference but they really don't cost that much money and no, I don't worry about it causing a fire.
