    Default Pizza!

OK I bought a pizza today for 11 dollars....I just feel so bad when I do this when I KNOW I could either make one or have something else for less money...

it was a bad day so i went for it...

I beat myself up mentally when i am into frugality big time, anyone else do this?

Sometimes I think if I didnt do these small things I would maybe do worse (i.e. buy a coach bag or some chanel sunglasses!) so maybe the small indulgences arent so bad after all in a way.

    Nite

Don't beat yourself up ... ya could be like me, I ended up going into debt yesterday to the tune of nearly $800.00 for a new love seat.

Okay, though I try really hard to be frugal, it doesn't always work [actually it works better in small things that big ones!]

I did need one, couldn't find a used one that I liked or was comfortable and both were a necessity.

Recently I moved and went to a smaller apartment [from a one bedroom to an effeciency apt.] and before I moved I had in my mind how I wanted things, right?

Since it is so small and I have a cat who's pretty active - I decided before-hand that I was going to have the new place very sparsely furnished to give my cat more space and gave my love seat away to a neighbor.

Then after being in the new place for about 3 weeks, I realized that when I just wanted to kick back, it was not comfortable ... I mean, my rocker/glider is comfortable but not like a couch/love seat would be and so ...

This is how I ended up buying a new love seat 'cuz I'd already given my other one away.

I do things like this all the time, I go for whatever works at the time and at the time [before moving], to me - not having one made more sense when it come to the space issue so I give whatever it is away and then realize I need it and have to buy another one. Ugh!!

I'm going through the same exact decision today. I've made pizza the past three Friday nights and tonight instead of making it I'm going to buy it. AND I bet its going to cost more than $11.

    Its all give and take.

You can't beat yourself up for not being "perfect" 100% of the time.

Sometimes you have to remind yourself how far you have come.

So yeah, in a perfect world, we'd have all the motivation, energy and time to cook everything from scratch. That's not the way "real life" is.

So in our house we have some convenience foods, some quick cooking stuff. We had pizza out on Tuesday.

Here's a different take on regular pizzas:

I'm trying this for the first time tonight, if it works well, it would be alot easier than having to make pizza crust each time.

I completely agree with what everyone else here has said, an $11.00 treat isn't that big of a deal.
So don't be too hard on yourself.

    oh don't worry about it!

you dont do it every day right?
    Then treat yourself!!!

check out local stores for "take and bake" or places like that. they're usually a lot cheaper.

    OR check out coupon deals.

we get this one deal that has 2 pizzas (w/ choice of toppings), dozen breadsticks or so and a 2-litre of soda for 20$ (plus tax... usually comes to about 22$).

I sometimes have to splurge or I do end up losing it and doing something MAJOR. I like taking maybe $10 and going to Dollar Tree or Walmart. I feel like it's splurging but usually it's things we want (but not necessarily need).

My parents sent me Bday $. It was $100 and I had to spend it on me. I went to WM - I bought me some stuff that I wanted, bought a few kitchen things I needed, then bought dog food, cat food, etc. LOL Of the $100, I really only spent about $50 on me. Oh yeah, I also put in $10 worth of gas. LOL Don't beat yourself up over it.

    Yummmm Pizza.

DH recently got himself a toy at the tune of $1350 dollars. Am I worried? Nope. We have cash in savings, our bills are paid and our debts are being paid on time. I think you can be frugal without having to throw yourself into the whole 'I can't buy anything new, everything has to be used, and I won't settle for less' attitude. It'll make you miserable.

We only splurge on big ticket items once every few years. That's alot better than most people I know of.
