Murphy found us
I'm ready for him to get lost already.
First the kitty was sick.
This weekend, dh's truck (16yrs old & paid for) developed an antifreeze leak. We fixed the main hose, still leaked. Took it to our mechanic. It's the water pump. $200
While it was at the shop, the mechanic noticed the NYS inspection was due this month so he thought he'd do us a favor and inspect it & slap a sticker on it for us. Well, it won't pass inspection. It needs a tie rod end and something else in order to pass by the end of the month. $300+
Then I go down to the basement last night and there's water on the floor. It's not unusual, we have an old house with limestone walls & French drains in the basement. When it rains, we get a little water on the floor. Except it hasn't rained in over a week. Our 21yr old hot water heater decided to spring a leak. And because it's gas, we have to have someone else install a new one. We looked at Lowes, Home Depot, and Sears...all are going to run us about $600-700 for a new hot water heater & installation. I'm calling local plumbers today to find out if they can do it any cheaper.
Also this weekend, while grooming our oldest sheltie, dh found a tumor/cyst on her chest that we need to get checked out. She is 9 yrs old but still. I don't know how much more we can take. Emotionally and financially

Does that mean he will leave me alone now?
1 lost job
1 cat with heart problems who developed cancer
2 car accidents
1 health issue resulting in surgery
2 major incidents at the part-time job
add up to a very long six months.
let's not even go back two years...Last edited by kita; 10-15-2008 at 08:55 AM. Reason: I forgot something

I'm very sorry that you're going through this right now.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
