Anyone reading this book now?
I'm thinking it might be time for another read. I get so much out of her book(s). I think I'll be reading through for recipes this time. I've used some, but not a lot. Might be time to expand my repertoire!

Hi
I just borrowed books 2 and 3 from my local library. I already own book 1.
I was curious to see how good the other 2 books are.
I was about 1/3 through the number 2 book, and just was not impressed.
My plan was to read the two books, return them, and maybe some
time in the future borrow them again. But now that I am further through
the second book, I am starting to find things I can use.
So plan is to read the two books, return them, and keep an eye out
for used copies for my bookshelf.
I have always had to be frugal due to the way I grew up. And raised 4 kids
and had to be a stay at home mom. Then remarried and had 3 step kids,
added into the household. I HAD to be frugal.
And I continue to be frugal, and on the lookout for more ideas

I am currently reading through her complete [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Tightwad-Gazette-Amy-Dacyczyn/dp/0375752250/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1235247473&sr=8-1"]TWG[/ame]....again.
I read it every year or so, and it never fails that I come across something that I had forgotten, or yet another new idea to try.......it's a great encouragement to read!!Last edited by Gabe; 02-21-2009 at 03:20 PM.

I reread it ([ame="http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Tightwad-Gazette-Amy-Dacyczyn/dp/0375752250/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1235247473&sr=8-1"]the complete TWG[/ame]) every 3-4 months to help me stay focused. It seems like each time I read it something else will pop out at me because circumstances change.

I am actually reading this for the first time. I looked all summer at yard sales for them with no luck. So Dh was going to the library to get a manual for him and I picked up all 3 of the books. I'm halfway through book one and have really enjoyed it. Since I don't own the books, I have a notebook with the books and when I read a useful tip or recipe I jot it down in my notebook for reference whenever I need it.

That's how I started out. I borrowed them from the library and took notes. I have several years worth of notes now.LOL Time to go back and reread my notes...or maybe the books. They're excellent winter reading material! I finally broke down and bought my own copy of TCTWG. It is one purchase that has paid for itself many times over!

I have it but admit I only randomly read it when I need some help in a certain area. Maybe I should sit down and read it in full. I just wish the print was larger!

Actually, the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Tightwad-Gazette-Amy-Dacyczyn/dp/0375752250/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1235247473&sr=8-1"]Complete TWG[/ame] has some extra material beyond the 3 books. It contains the 3 books, plus the 1/2 year or so of her monthly newsletters that weren't in any of the books. Also there are some nice letters that people sent her, telling of their successes with the TWG.Last edited by Gabe; 02-21-2009 at 03:28 PM.
