Extra apples
DH went to the store for me last week, and bought a huge bag of apples. We didn't eat them all, so now I have extra apples! I made 4 loaves of apple bread today, and stored 3 in the freezer for Christmas gifts. We still have plenty of apples for lunches for this week. My house smells so yummy this afternoon!
Next, I'm going to whip up some pumpkin bread! Yum!Wife to Kevin: 20 years

When I have too many apples, I either juice them, throw them in the vitamix for a smoothie (this hot apple drink is the best!), or bake up a cinnamon apple.
I've never even heard of making apple bread! Do you have a recipe to point me at?

I love apple pie! DH just loves apples, he takes one to work with him everyday. What about even caramel apples?

Applesauce!! That is what we do with leftover apples. Well, we really don't have leftovers ones at my house.

I just made chunky applesauce last week. Finished if off last night for supper. I always have applesauce in my stockpile. The bread sounds delish!

I have a big huge bag of dried apples I need to make into fried pies for Thanksgiving. I just can't find a recipe that looks even close to my mamaw's recipe. She died in Jan, so I can't find it out, she kept it secret.

We make applesauce with some of the apples from our orchard. We add cranberries to the apples while they cook and run it through a food mill. Then we can it. We made 85 pints this fall. It was the first year we were able to use our own apples!

Here in FL apples are $1.49 lb. Boy I would love to make my homemade applesauce but at that price - no way!

Way to go! I love apples. I make applesauce and also freeze apple pie filling and just apple slices (peel on) dipped in Fruit Fresh in water. I use the frozen apples for fruit crisps.
