Lots of great ideas. I'd love to take some classes someday. Money is really tight right now, but we might be able to work some things into the budget next year. What I really want is for my kids to be able to take some classes. That's a good way to fill up some evenings too. Watch, next year I'll be back here whining that I don't have any free time.

The guy doesn't come to officially turn off the (good) channels until Friday, but we've been trying to wean ourselves off of just sitting in front of the TV. I've been cleaning and organizing, which is usually not my strong suit. But if you're not stuck in the middle of watching a bunch of junk TV it's not so bad.

We've also noticed that we're getting sleepy a lot earlier in the evening. I guess it's because if you're not watching TV you don't have that "one more show" mentality. Last night is the latest we've stayed up in a while and that was because that Christian Slater show is on at 10. Other than that, we've been ready to fall asleep by 10 or 10:30.

I'm just hoping that it's not too rainy of a winter - we're in CA, so we don't get snow. My kids get a little stir crazy sitting inside doing the same old stuff all winter.
I may not be where I need to be, but thank God I'm not where I used to be.

I haven't had a television since I moved out of the nest. Instead, during the evening I play with my pets, cook, fiddle with my sewing machine, or read. I'm all about Netflix though. It's more affordable and less mind-numbing than television for me.
