Talking The 12 frugal days of Christmas

Not very timely for me to post, and pretty much stuff we already know, but a nice list....

A really nice link, cab54! Gave me some good ideas -- I liked seeing so many of them in one place.

One thing that resonated with me was the paring of the gift list mentioned for Day 2: we got an apologetic card from DH's elderly aunt and uncle, saying they could only afford to send a card this year. Our thought was that it was about time! We feel bad that they probably feel bad, whereas we're sorry they feel financially tight but glad they're saving their money. Our boys have plenty; we've wanted them to "cut us out" for a long time. (I don't know if I made my point very well.... just wanted to say that a thoughtful card can be truly much appreciated -- we really are just interested in hearing they're well, not in the gifts they send.)

    Great link Cab54, thanks!

Minnner77, I so understand what you are saying. My niece (who is only 4 years younger than me) asked this year too if we could cut out gifts and I was so happy. She will be coming over for Christmas dinner anyway and I prefer her company to some trinket that I might never use.
