    Default coupon question

Does anyone if there will be coupons in the next three weeks of newspapars? I am really pinching pennies and if there are no coupons, I won't buy the paper..

No coupons this week, or next - I have heard. Wait until after the new year.

Or better yet, buy your coupons. I don't rely the paper any more. I use couponmasters.com and thecouponclippers.com to get multiples of every coupon I want. Both sites are excellent. I recommend them both highly. Fast delivery, and accurate envelopes of coupons. I have yet to be shorted.

Pay $3-5 to save $60? Heck yeah.

If you do go the buying route, please consider buying through Frugal Village.

Thank-you...four bucks to go elsewhere. I have thought about buing coupons, but at the moment I am single and living in a tiny apartment so a huge stockpile doesn't work for me. I try to do some, but can't imagine trying to put four to six months of anything bigger than shampoo etc. in here is scary.

So if you don't buy the Sunday newspaper,.... but instead buy your coupons, get a paid subscription to a coupon matching service and look up all your sales fliers on the web ...

Did you really save much time and money as compared to getting a home delivery newspaper in the first place?

Yes, I do work for a newspaper. But I would get home delivery even if I didn't. In fact I get also home delivery Sunday edition of one of our competitor's newspapers. That means I get two packs of coupons every Sunday (two different newspapers) and see sales fliers for stores that are not within my city but are within consideration should I have a reason to drive that way.

There are many places that discount the Sunday paper on Monday, so that may be less than buying the coupons. Where I work we have a coupon circle, we pass ours around when done, there is at least one that someone clips from another's pile. Plus there are tons of sites to print them free out there.

I don't know if this would be something you want to do or not, but I would contact your nearest convenience store and ask them what they do with their extra Sunday papers. Sometimes they will give you the coupon inserts for free because the paper carrier just come pick up the front page or section. I would also check out your local recycling centers and go digging for coupons. My children love helping me do this. Just some things to think about

P&G announces on its web site it will have a coupon packet in Dec. 28 newspapers.

In the meantime, I second that recycling bin idea.

I happen to be the one who ends up pulling the old newspapers out of our office bin - not the newspaper we publish, but the regional newspapers we subscribe to.

One day I wondered why I was throwing away perfectly good coupons.

The newspapers I was clearing out were about two weeks old but in most cases the coupons were still good.

Another employee realized what I was doing and started to set aside coupons she no longer needed for me.

After I pick through all those coupons for whatever I want, I hand on coupons to other families. There have been times I literally had SHOEBOXES full of coupons to pass on.

One of my friends said she saved $45 one day with my "leftovers."

The recycle bin IS a great idea - but one for the "pro" column to buying coupons ( regardless of the source! )

When you buy coupons online, you have access to coupons distributed all over the country. A lot of coupons are regional. While a Hellmann's mayo coupon may be running for the Pacific Northwest, it is not printed in the South - Mainly because Hellmann's is the top brand in the South. If you live in the South, you want a Hellmann's coupon because you buy it all the time. The manufacturer wants to promote sales in the North - hence, coupons distributed only regionally.

I have access to multiples of all the coupons I want, and none of the ones I don't need.

*shrug* It is VERY worth it to me.

Another idea is asking around at work. Invariably there are 3-5 people who get the paper but don't clip coupons. Perhaps they will bring them in to you on Mondays.

I have a part-time subbing type job only at the moment (hence the tight pennies). I do have unemployment.
Two jobs ago, I had a "bring me your coupons" deal with my co-workers and it was very nice.
I decided that since my older brother sent me $$ for Christmas I would make the trip to Aldi's (not close and there are tolls) so I feel really stocked up at the moment. And I went to the bread store. Gotta love 'good stuff" bread for $2 a loaf...Whole Wheat, 12 grain etc. I am picky about my bread...it cannot resemble wonder bread in any way.
