When life throws you a curve ball what can you do?
blah!
We went and got dds hearing tested. We already knew she had a loss but she has reached the stage where it is starting to affect school, relationships, and self esteem.
It was time for her first aid. She will be 13 tomorrow.
We all have loss in my family so she is fine with the whole concept and eager to hear better.
Yes, the numbers don't lie, she needs aids.
There are other numbers--$3620...egads we only have $1000 saved towards them.
Tomorrow I hit the budget HARD.
I am DETERMINED to make this work without changing my debt repayment schedule AT ALL and I will, no matter what.
I am not going to be beaten by this. The math never lies, budget in INK!
Amount of Free items 2012 $391.33

Debt #2 12/31/12 CC $901.88
Debt #3 12/31/12 $3648.83

Will insurance cover any of it? Obviously it is necessary. Good luck!

I had the same question about insurance or maybe a shriner's hospital or some other organization that will help. Good luck. My youngest ds is hearing impaired so I'm sure that's in our future as well.

Wow, that is a hard hit.
I have a friend that wears them and she has for a very long time...she needs new ones, but won't get them because of the expense. keep up the positive attitude. Good luck to you and your dd.

can you talk to the audiologist and the school to see if they will help subsidize her hearing aids? sometimes they will take payments and perhaps she will qualify for a program through the school district? It's worth a try. good luck, where there's a will there's a way... it's gonna work out !!!

When life throws a curve ball, DUCK!!
In this case try to duck the high expense by checking out charities. There may be one that will help subsidize the costs. Ask your school nurse or your audiologist, or try a google search.Spiritual:

I wonder if they don't have a payment plan? You can do this and I'm happy to see that you're thinking you can't do this....it's only a bump in the road of life. Personally I'm happy they have tools to help her be able to function at a higher level.....how aggravating not to be able to hear normally. Gripey suffers a little bit with it in crowded places so I can empathize a little with you all.

They do have a payment plan 0% for a year.
We also make $75,000 a year. There are no programs for us.
I have been down this road before with dd#1 and myself.
We will get it done. I just didn't want to take on more debt. The math never lies, budget in INK!

You are so postive and upbeat about this. I DO BELIEVE you will not let this beat you and you will get the hearing aid without taking on more debt.

Eeks. Is that the cost of the 2 hearing aids? You can get her one for her worse ear first, shouldn't put you to much in the hole. Save up some more, than get the other hearing aid later on.
When life throws you a curve ball...... play baseball! (Kinda hard to do in all this snow, but hey.... Maybe make it a game of snowball! Duck!)
