Un-frugal confessions
I thought it might be fun to see how others "slip-up" now and then.
I know I do it, and I am sure others have also. I wouldn't say its always a "bad" thing, what would be bad is if we let a slip-up stop us from jumping right back on the frugal train. I now I love this site for that reason.......people here always help movivate me in to getting myself right back on track.
So what un-frugal thing have you done this week?
I bought some "special" coffee that I really didn't need, it was a pure and simple want.

I plan on going to the local quilt store and buying some batik go border a quilt I made. I have other fabric...but it just doesn't seem to go that well...I'm going to purchase what matches well instead of using up what I have.

Threw out leftovers that we forgot to eat...

DH's parents invited us for pizza last night. We live in a fancy pants town, where EVERYTHING is overpriced. The bill without tip for the 4 of us with 2 soft drinks (we drank water) was $55.65 and DH grabbed the bill!!!
That's like 4 dinners from my favorite Chinese place! We can afford it, but dang, I have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. Do you know how many homemade pizzas I could've made for that kind of cash?
OK, I need to get over it.

I'm with gibblerkelly....I left some food in the fridge too long instead of freezing it, so now I'll have to throw it out.

I stopped at the book store to use a holiday gift card and ended up buying 4 books instead. I DID use the gift card but also spent almost 50 cash! And I DO have at least 70 books here at home that are as yet unread, plus a lovely little local library at my disposal. Bookstores are evil to me.....
I also see my hair stylist every month. One month is just a cut, the other month is to cover the gray! She has the lowest prices in the area but it is still an expense. Necessary as I travel to client sites weekly but still spending....
also have nails done 2x per month. That I could probably cut but I love looking a bit feminine in the workplace.

We ordered pizza last night, rather than using what was in the fridge, and today is my daughter's birthday, so we are taking her to dinner at her favorite restaurant. Oh well.

I bought bread from the store yesterday at $4.59 a loaf. I didn't feel like making any. Along with that came two packages of cookies.

Oooh...I went out shopping on Boxing Day and scored some books...$50 worth. And I encouraged DH to score some computer programs (on sale - $70) and a couple flash drives on sale too ($16 for 2 4 GB). Didn't really need them right now, but I was recently in a position where I needed one and didn't have access to it. So I'll keep one in my purse from now on.

My indulgence is CoffeMate brand creamer. That stuff is like stirring crack into coffee! LOL!! I LOVE IT!! My DH indulgence is WOW time every month. He doesn't really spend money anywhere else, and it helps keep BOTH of us sane! Oh, and as you can see from my profile pic.. spoiling my fat cats!

I don't have a lot of indulgences; good, I guess. But today Hubby took me shopping and "made" me get a Kitchen Aid stand mixer. Bless his heart! It was part of his Christmas gift to me.
And I go to Curves. I could work out at home, but Curves keeps me motivated. I do feel guilty about it every so often, tho.Spiritual:

Mine is after-Christmas sales. Online and brick and mortar. This week I got a cute pair of jammies my DD totally didn't need, 50% off at Target. But they are SO cute and cozy and though I didn't know it when I got them, she just came down with an awful chest cold and is lounging in them going on 2 days now. How was that bad again...LOL?
Oh, and bookstores...my to-be-read book piles? I'm sure some expert on Oprah would label me a hoarder, but, really, I just love books and to read. And it's JUST books I do this with. Rest of my house looks OK.
