Question Has anyone tried SHARECOLORADO or prarieland food programs?

Where I live we have three food programs avaliable, Angelfood ministries, prairie land foods and SHARE colorado. I have tried and enjoyed the Angel food program, but have not used the other two. Anyone ever used either of these? How do they compare to the angelfood? Is it a good value? I would love to get someones opinions on these programs who have actually eaten the food! Im slightly afriad to spend money on something I have never tried or be forced to throw out the food! That would not be helpfull in saving me any money! Im hoping to slim down my food budget this year. TIA!

I have a friend that uses SHARE, but have no idea what kind of food she gets with it. The website should tell you thou. I do know that you need to "volunteer" your time in addition to the cost with SHARE. Not that they check up on you, but technically it is a requirement.

I've gotten Angelfood in the past, it wasn't worth it to use because we just don't eat that kind of food.

We used share for about 6 mo. They weren't too bad, I got alot of the produce.

Last year we bought the Christmas & New Year Dinners, but this year they seemed alittle expensive.

My mil used prairie land food in Nebraska, but it was too far for her to drive to pick it up She said the food was good and the price was reasonable.

We also tried Angel Food a couple months ago and can say I was not impressed with it. Maybe it was a bad month, we need to drive too far to pick it up. Tho their fruit & produce look alot better than shares.

If i were you try one, then decide if which one you like better, lately, we are getting a better deal at king soopers & albertsons.

You no longer need to volunteer for share. But they can always use the help.

We used to use Share here but then they switched to Prairie Land Food.

DH and I haven't purchased the Prairie Land packages for several months...we weren't too thrilled with the meat products they were including--they just weren't high quality. They had a lot of fat and gristle and the meat just wasn't terribly good. The prices have also gone up a bit over the past couple of years so we've had to really evaluate if the price we were paying was worth it to us. There were several items each month we really didn't use and we ended up giving them away or they went to waste. Also, they give prices plus the weight of things like the specials and I found that for our money, we could get a better price per pound at the local grocery store or meat market.

On the plus side, you know you'll get a variety of food every month. And you can always look online for the sneak peek at next month's menu.
    May Goals:

    2. Snowball the CC payment into Sears Credit Card bill (no interest) and get it paid off ASAP.
    3. Snowball the CC and Sears card payments into hospital bill (due w/ Baby #2 via C-section in mid-January). Pay that off ASAP.4. Snowball payments into DH's student loan (as of 12/4/11 there's still $4770.84 remaining). Pay off by 12/31/12.
