    Thumbs up FYI: ZenniOptical Glasses

About two weeks before Christmas I ordered online two pairs of glasses from zennioptical.com.
One pair for myself and a pair of reading glasses for my husband.

My glasses were $48 total. The last pair of glasses I bought were from a large chain store and I paid $300.00. I'm not kidding.

My husband's reading glasses were $8. Yep, $8. He paid $62 for his last pair of reading glasses
from the same large chain store.

Well we got the glasses and they are PERFECT!!!
I will never again waste my money at the large chain store again and I have a high prescription.
I started wearing them as soon as I got them and love them. I'm also going to order sunglasses
    and a back up pair.

Just wanted to let everyone know that zennioptical is a true frugal bargain and how happy we are with our purchase from them.

Wow - thanks so much for the info.

I know I need new bi-focals but keep putting off getting them because of the cost.

For now, I can use my reading glasses to read which is the most important reason that I "have" to have glasses.

Things across the room are getting a bit harder to see but my old reading glasses that got too weak for reading, I can use those for that [for now.]

Is just a pain to have different glasses for different things, ya know? *lol*

I ordered 3 pair (including prescription sunglasses) for $64 and get more compliments on these glasses than any I have ever owned.

    I LOVE Zenni!

I second the good things said about zennioptical. My old pair of glasses are a decade old (prescription had changed several times) and as I wear contacts, the insurance only pays for one or the other. I usually wear glasses at the house and to give my eyes a rest from contacts. So I needed both last year. I spent $20 and got a pair of glasses that look better than ones I paid ~$200 for. I did have my eye doc fill out the prescription for me (he understands my frugality) but they are required to give you a written prescription if you ask. My order came in the time they said too with a plastic case. I give them 5 stars.

I need to check them out. I had a similar experience with paying almost $300 for Lauren's glasses and then paying only $79 for a pair from 39dollarglasses.com (she has a special prescription, so the pair cost more than $39).

Kathryn needs a spare pair, so I'll head on over there when I'm done here.

Glad others are as happy as I am with zennioptical. I was prepared for problems really.
The the large chain stores make it seem like such complicated and confusing process. I couldn't believe how fast I ordered the two pair of glasses and didn't have to sit and wait and wait...:cwhistling:

So far it's my frugal bargain of 2009.
It's a huge savings for us.

Tip: Make sure you get your PD (distance between pupil number...) total number. You'll need it when ordering.

I'm going to add a tip that I found useful when ordering my glasses. In order to get glasses that were the right size and fit for my face, I measured my old frames (zenni gives frame width and lens width in millimeters on each listing) and ordered frames that were about the same size as what I had. It worked out perfectly.

Another happy Zeni customer here too! I ordered a red pair right before Christmas and I just love them. I will never buy from anywhere but Zeni.

I need new glasses. I guess I will get the eye exam and get the glasses there. Usually the eye exam is about 35 bucks but the glasses are what cost a bundle.
