Default I signed up for cooking classes

in order to make more meals from scratch. I get 10 lessons for 200 dollars and I figure if this means I make more stuff at home, it will pay for itself in a few months.

My first class was on Italian food. We learned to make meatballs, ravioli, manicotti, 3 kinds of sauces, and minestroni soup.

So yesterday, I took the meat ball recipe and took out the italian spices and added onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms and made 200 chicken breast meatballs.

I broke them down into 10 packages of 20 and froze them. I can now just take them out of the freezer and add them to an Italian sauce, an Indian sauce, or a Asian and heat up some rice or pasta and have a meal in as much time as it takes me to heat the Bertolli meals.

Next weeks class is on Thai cooking. I hope to learn to make pad thai.

Keep us posted on each of your classes, please. Is it offered throught a grocery store, college, gas company or other. I remember 100 years ago when I was young and took cooking classes from the local gas company. You went one evening a week and at the end you got a cookbook. Best of all it was free! But there wasn't a variety of styles. Just basic stuff.

Wow! That sounds really nice. Please share what your learning each week and how it works out when you repeat them at home.

10 classes for $200! Wow, around here it costs $50-60+ per 3 hour class. I've taken a few to expand my skills, but wow, for 10/$200 I would be all over that.

Would love to see the chicken meatball recipe. ::

I would love to go to a cooking class. It sounds like something I could benefit from. I don't know of any in my area though. Sounds like you are learning and using what you have learned.
