    Default Price of Soap

Is it just me, or has the price of soap ~ wether it be body, dish, or any other~ gone up in the last couple of weeks?! And how about the paper products, such as T.P., kleenex, napkins, paper towels?!?! RIDICULOUS I could only find soap at $1.00 per bar at Walmart, of all places!!!

It seems like all HBA products have gone through the roof lately! Very, very frustrating!

Maybe it is all going up because they are necessities!! I think I shall have to go to cloth napkins as well...my wonderful elderly neighbor gave me a serger that she used a couple of times and I think I could take lots of fat quarters from my stash and make a couple dozen...but what do we do about soap?!?!

Paper products have been going up in price for years now. The last time I bought bar soap, I bought it at Sam's Club for 40 cents a bar. There were 20 bars in the pack. The next time I go I'll be buying another pack so I don't run out and I'll check the price and see how much (if it did), it went up.

I got bar soap at Krogers 10/$1 but I know that body wash has been going up that why I won't buy it any more. It's bar soap for me now!

When we get our taxes back I always take a chunk and re-fill our stockpile for the year, I have to admit that I am a little worried about what things are going to cost, I have already started saving my coupons, and have set aside an some extra money just for the price increase, but I still am afraid that it might more than I alotted for! I am probably going to be shopping at the dollar store a lot more!!

I haven't bought soap in about a month, and it was the same then. I bought TP last week at Aldi's and it was still $2.29 (4 pack, 1000 sheets a roll), and we don't buy paper towels or napkins. We switched to cloth napkins last summer and it is really nice, we get to be "fancy" at every meal!

A local salvage store had soap (herbal soap from Africa) for 10 cents a bar. I got one to try and it has this wonderful sandlewood fragrance.

10 cents a bar? can you say no labor union? that is not economics of scale working on that.

    Have you tried Walgreens?

Walgreens brand soap is always 3 bars for $1, and they have 3 different scents.

They always have one brand or another of dish soap at .99 a bottle, it's the smaller size but can most of the time pair with a manufacture's coupon and I regualrly get dish soap for .75 or less a bottle.

Do you have Kroger or Kroger brand grocery stores (Dillons, King Soopers, etc)? I regualry get free toliet paper, in fact have 2 cases in the basement. Cottonelle TP always has IP coupons for .50 and Kroger doubles them, Cottonelle normal price is .99 a 4 pack, so it's free. Albertsons also regulary puts Scott TP on sale for $1 and it's often about 2-3 weeks after $1 off coupon comes out in the Sunday paper. (Our Albertsons doesn't normally double, but it's still free after coupon).

I had a bunch of soap I got off the clearance about a year ago. They were 3 packs for .25! But I just ran out of them. I bought some Irish Spring at Costco and it was 16 or 18 bars for $7something. That comes out to a little less than 2 bars for $1.
