Perspective aka a kick in the rear..
Well, I have been sitting on $100 birthday money from my Mom. I spent $20 and got GREAT deals on 1 art work for the remodel and a cookbook stand I have been really wanting.
Now, my cat has taken a bad turn. She has dropped weight almost overnight and yesterday when I got up her eyes were goopy and her breathing seemed wrong.
I called the vet and given her age 9 almost 10 they want blood work on her. They can't fit her in until Friday at 9 AM. I wish I could get her in sooner!
If she gets any worse I WILL take her to the ER vet even though I have heard horror stories about them.
SO far she is no worse off and breathing better. I did wipe her eyes gently with a warm rag but she is so weak she hardly had any fight in her which given this cats spunk sent me into tears and fears.
So, now I now I face the possibilty that I may be saying goodbye to her on Friday if it is the kindest thing to do for her. I am hoping for the best while trying to prepare for the worst.
I told my dds.....that was awful.
Now, I am so glad I didn't spend my money on a bunch of worthless cr*p because my kitty needs it more.
Sorry to dump on ya'll but I am panicy. The math never lies, budget in INK!

I agree with sabrelvssammy. I would take your kitty to another vet ASAP. If it has an infection that is treatable with anitbiotics, it could get much worse by Friday. I hope everything works out ok!

I hope all is well with your cat. I would call around other vets and see if someone could see her sooner then friday. My sil's cat had similar symptoms, for her cat the symptoms stemmed from an allerigic reaction to my sil getting a different cat litter.

She is asleep right now in the dog kennel in the livingroom. Her breathing is fine now but she is still so thin and goopy eyed.
I only hesitate because my vet is so good at what he does and he is familiar with her.
As long as she looks okay I will hold the course but like I said, I will use the ER if she starts to look bad again.
It is kind of like taking your baby to "another" pediatrician. You would rather go to the your doctor or the ER.The math never lies, budget in INK!

She can't wait until Friday. Call your vet back. I never turn away clients if their pets are sick.

I'm sorry your cat isn't well. Its not easy to know what to do for them. I am concerned why your vet can't see her until Friday. I understand not want to use a different vet, but it seems they should see her right away. Can't they work her end since she is sick? I imagine you are worried sick having to wait. I would be too. My kitty has some health issue & I tend to get worried easily. I know you will do what is best for her.
Hope she feels better real soon.
