I used them with the first three, then I couldn't find the vinyl pants anymore. I made some fleece covers and still use pins.

I think I responded to this in that question/answer thread, so I'll keep this one brief.

I used them a long time ago and they worked fine, although I used disposables on car trips and Holiday events away from home for the convenience.

They are economical however, if you don't have a washer or dryer, it can get pricy if you are having to run to a laundromat for a diaper trip outside your normal laundry schedule.

Not a bad experience but as I said in the other thread if it were now, as long as I had the money, I would use disposables. I don't believe I would use cloth againn.

I used them when my son was a baby. I loved them, found they saved alot of money and would definitely use them again. I was also a stay at home mom then so that makes a difference. I only used disposables when we went out somewhere for a long period of time.

I used cloth but I was brave. I found my DD often had diaper rash from being in disposables. I often let her wear the cloth diaper without a plastic/vinyl pant. We had hardwood floors so this wasn't as bad as it seems. The poor tyke just had such bad rashes. I doubled the diapers though.

A lot of whether the diaper holds things in is how you fold it and pin it to the baby. There was a special way my sister-in-law showed me that was designed for little boys. Worked fine on my little girl too...especially for the days I was airing out her little bottom.

I used them years ago and the only problem I found (with disposables also) was on some babies the plastic pants or vinyl held in the heat and made the babies rash up. So I often just used the cloth with nothing else to help "air" the babies bottoms so that the rash would heal. Bag balm and corona ointment (used for utters on milk cows) is some of the very best stuff you can use for babies bottoms. It keeps the wettness form getting to their skin and keeps them from getting rashes. Works like a charm, and will heal faster than anything else you can get.

I use them at home, but not day care. I find them to be fairly cost saving. Even if I run a load of laundry every other day, I am still not spending as much as I would on disposables.

I also use the velcro kind, Bum Genius. And I know that you can buy liners for those kinds of diapers, so you could just peel the liner off and flush away the poop. I don't do that, but I know you can.

My oldest was a very raw/rashy baby also. Especially when teething. I worked, so I know my dh used disposables wehn I was gone, but I only used cloth at home, and left off the plastic pants so his little bottom could 'breathe. It helped immensely. I think plastic pants are hard to find now.
