I just did my taxes
Wow. We are getting back 8K.
I think I shall pay ahead on the mortgage and the car payments, stock up on some baby stuff, get a pedicure, and put the rest in the wee man's college fund.

Wow that is quite a sum! You should consider changing you W2's so you don't pay so much in. That's a lot of interest lost. Still, don't take it wrong, I am happy for you. There is nothing as great as a nice, big, fat,
lump sum of cold, hard cash!

Maybe. But we also have the wee man and day care tax credits this year. So that really helped.
And frankly, I don't mind losing the little interest I would lose with getting the refund. I am just now learning fiscal responsibility and probably would have spent that extra money on ordering delivery pizza or thai.

We're still waiting on DH's T4s so we can do his taxes. We're hoping we get at least enough to pay off Best Buy and pay back FIL some of the $6k he lent us last year.
Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

That's great! You are using it so well too.
We're getting about the same amount back. My husband changed his deductions on his W4 about midway through this year to married 12, and we're still getting so much back. We're going to keep it at this for this year, see what next year brings, then adjust accordingly. Our refund is going straight into savings- already put our state refund there.
