Smile My recieved my First Raincheck Today

The store had tuna on sale for 50cents a can ( even the kind in water) The tuna shelves were empty. I looked all over for some. All gone.
I summed up enough courage to ask the service desk if there was any more. Nope, they would be getting some in tonight. The lady then went on to tell me I could get a rain check, in case I didn't make it back before the sale ended. I asked how and she explained it to me.

The raincheck is good for how many ever I wanted to buy ( I picked 10) and it is doesn't expire for 60 days. How cool is that?

So I'm thinking if I do make it back before the sale ends and find Tuna still on sale I could just buy some at the sale price. Then use my raincheck later to buy some more again. Does that sound like a good thing to do?

Just looked at my title again. Apparently I am so excited I forgot how to talk. The title should read "I received my first rainckeck today"

This is my first raincheck I'm so excited.

How do you use your rainchecks. Do you wait to use them? Do you request a large number of items? I am guess you have to buy the number you requested all at one time when you redeem the raincheck.

Good for you! :perfect:I use mine next time I shop and buy the full amount if I have the money. The rain check is a one shot deal so you should buy as many as you think you will use & just hand the raincheck to the cashier when you check out. Don't forget you can still use coupons if they aren't expired and that can save you even more.

What do you mean " the full amount"? Do you mean the amount you told the person, who wrote up the raincheck, that you wanted?

If you don't have the cash or change you mind on how many you want can you buy less then the lady wrote down on the raincheck?

When I get a raincheck on an item that is out of stock I ask for the maximum amount available to be put in the "quantity" area of the raincheck. I redeem the raincheck and I will try and get as many of that item as my budget allows. I will also use any coupons that I have for the item too. This saves me so much on my grocery budget.

I usually forget to use mine at all! But sometimes the service desk clerk doesn't put a date on them, so I suppose they might be good indefinitely. I should dig a couple up and take a look.

And no, you don't have to buy the full quantity that's on the raincheck. But you don't get to keep it to buy the rest later.

I have tried several times to get a raincheck. I go to customer service and they call the stock people and the items show up!. So why couldn't they restock the stuff in the first place!

When they are out of items here I ask at the checkout. They never call anyone to confirm they're out of the item, they just write me a ticket. But I've never tried to cheat. Ours are good for 30 days.

If you've asked for 10 cans of tuna, you can buy up to 10 cans when you redeem the raincheck. Or you can buy 8 or 6... but you don't get to keep the raincheck to come back later and buy the other 2 or 4 cans.

I was quite the opposite,I went to the customer service excepting them to go and get more but they called back and they were completely out, so I got a raincheck.

Occasionally if there is a meat item I really want, but my freezer is full, I will wait and go at the very end of the sale or late on Sunday night when I get off work. I walk to the meat section thinking, "Please don't have it! Please don't have it!" With a rain check I can buy it later when I have a little more freezer space. Sometimes I'm lucky and it works. If they do have it, oh, well. I just buy whatever I can accomodate at the time.

Ok. This is a little manipulative and I don't do it often, but they do advertise the price, so they should have it whenever I'm there, right?

Most things, if they are out, I just let it go - there will be other sales. But if it's something I really had wanted I will ask for a raincheck.

Good for you!!! Rainchecks definitely come in handy when the stores underestimate how much they are going to need. I'd also hit the sale before it ends & save the raincheck for later...that way you save twice !

If they have no date on them the store is supposed to honor them. If they refuse the manager will usually override it if you ask.
