Are your store changing what/how they sell?
I noticed today that one of the local grocery stores has all their cigarettes on very deep discount. (75% off I think) and they other store had all its magazine at 30% off. Both places it was while supplies last.
I'm guessing they have decided not to sell those things anymore.
Are your stores doing anythings different? Are they selling things off?

When gas prices were at their highest and people had to really watch where they put their money, the local Dillon's stores started carrying a "Value" (generic type) brand for basic food items that was very low-priced.

Haven't noticed a change in products but the more expensive grocery store has lowered it's price on no-name products to make the prices more in line with what the discount grocery charges.

Stop & Shop used to give a $10 rebate for every $100 you bought. These days it's for every $200.

The shelves at our stores aren't nearly as full as they used to be. Food items seem to be running out of stock more often...someone said it's a management problem, but I'm starting to wonder??

It's not so much the products but the prices that I notice. The deals just aren't as good as they used to be. They don't match up nicely with the coupon cycles anymore.

The one and only video rental store in my city has stopped giving discount coupons for rentals and also stopped offering a free rental for an empty ink cartridge. No coupons or incentives to rent whatsoever. They also raised the cost of new rentals from $3.79 to $4.49. I feel like they want to go out of business with that kind of attitude. I asked why they changed and was told only that the company had a new CEO. It's Movie Gallery I am talking about, not some little local independent store.

While I am a big fan of CVS, I did notice they were having a buy one get one for $.01. Which the whole idea of getting something for a penny caught my attention I realized it was really a bogo with the addition of a penny.

I have noticed that the grocery sale circulars are full of sales for house brand items. In the past, weekly sales centered more on name brand items.

The markets around here are pushing their economy house brands too, and they didn't used to!

I've noticed that the produce department in "my" grocery store doesn't carry nearly as much of each item as they used to.
In the past, the bin that holds the bags of potatoes would have bags stacked about 3 high, and about 3 "deep". Now it's just 1 bag, 3 bags "deep", if that makes sense. I actually like it better that way, because I think less ends up going to waste in the long run.Gratitude.
