Do you do price adjustments?
If the item you bought goes on sale, do you go and get a price adjustment or let it slide? What stores do you know that do price adjustments?

I recently purchased an area rug at Tuesday Morning that went on sale less than a week later. I knew it was going on sale and asked the clerk if they would either honor the sales price or hold the rug for me as it was the only one of it's kind. They wouldn't do either. I was told to return the rug and "re-purchase" it when the sale started, but I would have to physically bring in the rug.
Normally I would not have bothered, but they kind of ticked me off. So the rug was in my trunk for several days, I took it back into the store with my receipt and begrugingly they refunded my $30.
I thought there was a state law that required stores to honor refunds on items that went on sale less than 2 weeks after purchase. I tried to do a google search and didn't find much. Does anyone know about this?

Our local Pamida store does that for items purchased within two weeks of the start of the sale. We've done it on occasion. They don't get all huffy over it here.
We wouldn't do it at a grocery store though.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I did it for the tracphone I bought at Walmart last fall. Got one for hubby and next thing I know it's like $ 10 cheaper. I found that out, when looking on their website. Went to local store to get one for me. And said something to the gal in that department who had no clue what I was talking about. But it was on the shelf marked correctly, must be by a manager real early that morning. So could not get the money back the normal way, but they gave me a $ 10 gift card. Worked for me. I am not sure how Walmart works, but it must be a recent purchase.
Most stores we go to are less than 7 miles one way for us. So yes I would do a price adjustment if I can when I go to town the next time.--------My signature--------

I've done it at K-mart before. And at Lowes I found something on sale at another store that I had just purchased at Lowes. They gave me the sale price plus 10% no questions asked.
The Tuesday Morning store in here is nothing but a crap heap. Looks like someones messy basement. Plus I didn't think their prices were that good. Do they take more off at the register or is the discount price on the tag what you pay?Jeanne

Yes, I definitely do it every chance I get! I've done it at Target for sure. If I'm in a store and notice something I've already purchased is marked down (especially right after Christmas!) I'll buy the exact same item, and return it with my original receipt.

We do for electronics (either Future Shop or Best Buy). They have a 30 day price guarantee, so we watch the flyers for a month after buying and will go back if the price drops.
Other things it isn't worth it for me. I don't really buy much besides food, I don't typically read the flyers for general merchandise, and I have too much anxiety to ask for the price adjustment anyway. Just thinking about it makes me panic. The electronics buying is my husband's department though, so I have no trouble sending him back in to get it adjusted.

Kohls and JCPenney also do it. I've never had a problem.

I do it most often around the holidays at Target. NEver fails I sneak out to do some Christmas shopping and then we get the next sale paper and stuff I just bought is onsale. At Target you don't have to have your receipt to get the adjustment if you have paid with a credit card, they can scan your card for recent purchases and adjust from their. For that reason I always use my debit but run it like a credit card, then I am not stressed if I can't find a receipt.

I price adjust almost every week at Walmart for groceries. It is the fastest way for me to do my grocery shopping. Just go to one store and price match everything. I will admit that if you do not have a good cashier, they can get sort of mean and grumpy about it. But I really don't care. I will get the best deal possible!!
