Thanks for the article. Did you read the comments at the bottom of the article? Some people need to practice the ol' "if you can't say something nice..."

"According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, personal savings are up in the United States. Americans saved 5 percent of their disposable income in January, compared to 3.9 percent in December, and only 0.8 percent a year ago."

    This idea could catch on!

"A Christian financial management course gave them inspiration to change their spending habits, steering them back to their frugal roots."

Hmmmm, wonder what that could have been ? hehehe

Thank you for posting the article, I enjoyed reading it.

Great article. Thanks for sharing. I have a ? though. Do people here think that the people in this article were "Fanatically Frugal"? Sounded pretty much normal to me. Guess this says something about me!!!

LOL! Mzpepper, yeah, they sounded like normal frugal to me too. BUT to the mainstream of North America they would be considered "Fantastically Frugal". I am just glad to finally see an article that 'gets it' with the frugality issue.

Great article. I didn't think they were fanatics either. They were just very smart and determined. In fact I wish I could have been smart enough to be that "Fanatical" in my younger years.

I would say compared to the "average" american that this family probably appeared to be extremely frugal. IMO
