Default OH! She might be catching on!

On Sunday, dd9 was invited to go the circus with her friend. Her aunt has a season ticket for the box. So it was no cost to us, and it includes refreshments and popcorn. So no spending money needed.

WELL, dd9 friends dad gave his dd and her two friends $15 each for pocket money. (I felt a little embarrassed, I could have sent money, but was led to believe it was unnecessary). Anyway, dd comes back and returns $12 to him. She chose a cotton candy. The other girls, spend most of it and kept the change! He felt bad and offered her $4 so she could save toward the webkinz she wants.

I was proud because she has been one to spend every last cent she has. But she said the souvenirs were expensive and junky. She also didn't feel right spending money from her friends dad, so spent just a little bit, which really surprised me! Something is sinking in!!

Now to work on the oldest...lol

That's great. I'd say she's definitely catching on. You should be proud

My 5 yo is always asking me if we have a "crouton" for her purchase..lol.

DS14 did groceries with me last night... he suffered a little sticker shock at the price of some of the things he had hoped to get..lol. Need to do that more with him.

Good for her, not only is she a frugalista in the making, she is respectful of someone's generosity also.
