gonna sock the soda budget in the butt...
I just got my Pepsi/FritoLay rebate(coupons) in the mail on Wednesday. Our Riteaid ad for this week coming up came out yesterday. On the back page is an in store coupon to buy 3 12pk Pepsi products for $10.98 and get 1 free. I have 5 q's for $2 off any Pepsi product. I'm going to get 3 12pk Pepsi and 1 12pk Mt. Dew and use 4 of my $2 off Q's and pay a total of $2.98!!!!

WOW!! Way to go!!

Good job!
We have a housefull of soda-holics.
I refuse to buy it if it's not on sale. One of the first things I do with the Sunday paper is pull out the ads to see who has the best sale this week.

They still sell the 12 pack Pepsi products where you live? They now have the 8 packs here and still charge the same price
So I quit drinking soda. DH still likes his sunkist orange, though. They still sell it in 12 packs (I think because its a Coke product)
Good deal on the soda for you!! Woohoo!“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

I'm a Diet Coke gal, but I've all but kicked the daily habit. Primarily for cost, but also too because I've pledged to drink more water and so my body can only hold so much fluid!! I squirt a lime or lemon in my glass and drink it at room temperature (it's better for you). I know it sounds strange. It's an acquired taste, but I've been able to cut the soda expense out of my budget and as a result haven't bought soda in a couple of months.

I consider myself lucky never to have gotten hooked on soda. It's really quite awful for your teeth, your waistline AND your wallet. Quitting it altogether would be even cheaper than buying it on sale.

I don't drink it unless I'm eating something like pizza, tacos, or hamburgers. Now my fiancee loves it but he doesn't smoke or drink alcohol and buying Pepsi is way cheaper than either one of those. I'm not about to tell a 45 year old man he has to give it up. That's what his doctor gets paid to do. He's as healthy as a horse BTW. Now if I drank as much Pepsi as he does, it would all go straight to my midsection. Life isn't fair.

We actually stopped buying pop when it got to be more than $3.49 per 12pk. I think we went without pop for a good few months. The only thing is that we had to have something sweet in its place. DH and I are more hooked on caffeine than anything, so I might start stockpiling sugar-free juice drinks and make coffee when we're really wanting caffeine.

I think you should give your arms a good workout patting yourself on the back.

What's that about pop?! Yep, me and SO are popaholics. There should be some sort of PA (popaholics anonymous) for us..

I love soda! I especially like Vanilla Coke but never buy it now because I only buy store brand. I am trying to kick the habit, though. I do drink a lot of water, I just always crave something sweet around 3:00pm.
Anyone ever heard of a homemade cola recipe?

Whatever attraction soda had for me went when it got to where it gave me a stomach ache/gas every time I drank it. Somehow paying someone big bucks for sugar water that was making me feel good while I drank it ( a few minutes) and then lousy for up to 8 hours just seemed dumb, so I quit.

Well my fiancee used to be an OTR truck driver and he doesn't drink coffee. He can't stand it when I make it for me. He gave up smoking 10 years ago, he doesn't drink alcohol, he works his butt off in a warehouse where he freezes in the winter and sweats in over 100 degree weather while loading trucks with heavy parts in the summer. He loves an ice cold Pepsi or Mt. Dew and usually only drinks 2 a day. He use to drink way more than that but has cut back considerably. His blood sugar is normal and like I said I'm not his doctor so until it does cause him health issues, which it may never do, I'm leaving the telling him he has to quit up to his doctor. I guess people waste money on different things which is why we are here. Myself, I've always been a big water hound. Now soda makes me belch like a drunken sailor.
, belch,
You know what's funny is he comes from Danish heritage and they are BIG sugar hounds but they are some of the healthiest people in the world. I never could figure that out. Another "life is not fair".
