    Default Zennioptical

Hi y'all...I'm sorta new, have posted a few times, but I really enjoy coming here and reading the posts. I was so good at being frugal when my kids were growing up, but now they are grown and daughter lives on her own I just have given up the frugal lifestyle and it makes me crazy that I spend so much. I'm trying to get back on track again. But anyway, I saw where some of you ladies have bought eyeglasses from Zennioptical. I have to tell you my eyeglass story. I went to Walmart for my yearly eye examine. Got a new prescription. I couldn't find the frames I liked at Walmart, so I went to Lenscraters when I can get an AARP discount on eyeglasses (which comes out to be $113.00). Well, I got my glasses there which ended up costing $256.00. I hated paying that much..so to make a long story short, I hated the Lenscrater glasses. I liked the frames, but the prescription and the glasses didn't seem right, so I eventually took them back and got a refund. I got on Zennioptical and ordered my glasses for $54.95 and they are progressives, too. I really love them. I'm trying to get used to the lenses because they are smaller than what I'm used to and if anybody wears progressives you know you have a certain point in the lenses to look through, but anyway, what a difference paying $256.00 and $54.95!! I'm gonna order a couple more pairs from Zennioptical in different colors and sunglasses, too. Thanks for letting me know about eyeglasses online. And...at Lenscrafters when the lady was measuring my eyes I asked her for the numbers and she said she wasn't allowed to give them to me. It's their policy because she said people will go online to order glasses. How wrong is that? It's my measure, you know? Finally I talked her into giving the measure. Anyway, I recommend Zennioptical.

Oh good! Thanks for the info! I wear glasses and contacts. Mostly contacts...Only glasses if I am having problems with my contacts. My insurance covers all of the expenses for my glasses but can only pick from certain frames. So I get a pair of those and pay for contacts out of pocket, which is way cheaper than glasses! But now I'll know where to go for affordable glasses!

    Congrats on the great savings!

For the future, I would check to see if optometry stores are bound by the same laws as medical institutions. Seems like they should be. If they are, any records (including measurements) legally belong to you. They cannot withhold them from you.

Could this just be me or does this sound like a "paid endorsement". Haven't we seen posts like this before?

I got my sons each a pair of glasses from them and really like them. My oldest has a simple RX and his were less than $10 for a complete pair! My other son's RX is a different but his weren't much, either. Total plus shipping for 2 pairs of glasses was less than $40. They have had them for about 6 months and held up really well.

I doubt this is a paid endorsement, Zenni optical has been talked about repeatedly on various deals forums....they're the cheapest around. I too ordered a pair of glasses before my old prescription ran out. I actually have two pairs of backup glasses, as my prescription rarely changes.....I can go 2-3 years easy between exams this way (still a basic single lens wearer).

By law I think any doctor who can examine your eyes and make a script is legally obligated to give you at least one copy if requested. Glad to hear there is an online company out there. I'm paying way too much!

I've used zenni optical and had a lot better success than at walmart. My lenses from walmart were never right, and they refused to fix them, saying i just "needed to get used to them." Sent my eye exam info. in to Zenni, got my glasses in 3 weeks, paid 35 bucks for them, got the anti-reflective coating, and can actually see out of them. I recommend this company to everyone I know that wears glasses!

No, I'm not a paid endorcement. I'm a skeptic. After getting fed up with Walmart and Lenscrafters I figured I'd take a chance on $55.00 and the internet to see if I could get glasses I liked and I'm new here so when I read that some people were buying their eyeglasses online (which I've never heard of doing before) I thought I'd take a chance. I'll probably not order glasses in the stores anymore. I know there are other online eyeglass places, but since Zennioptical was mentioned here that's who I used.

Glad you got such a great deal and are loving your new glasses. Me and dh got new glasses from zennioptical not to long ago and just love them. Save us a lot of money too.

Zenni is wonderful! Trust me, I have told so many people about them that I even asked if they had an affilliate program (they do not). So, I really wouldn't worry about this being a paid endorsement as Zenni has no such program.
