Hubby turns frugal!
I just had to mention this...I think it is so cute.
DH needs to gain weight badly. After his chemo and radiation treatments two years ago he has not been able to gain back the 80 pounds he lost.
Since I moved here last May...I have been making sure that he eats three meals a day. He has gained over 30 pounds back..and I am sooo glad BUT none of his pants fit anymore.
His jeans are not only tight on his legs but where his jeans zip up they only go halfway up so instead of going out and buying new jeans he just pulls up the zipper as far as he can, wears a belt and long t-shirts to cover the open part.
I laughed when I saw what he was doing and he said....."Well, I am trying to be frugal you know....you have taught me alot since you joined FV!"
I cracked up, gave him a kiss and said.... "yes dear".
Now THAT'S being frugal!

That is so funny! When I was pregnant and didn't want to invest in maternity pants in the beggining, I used to put a saftey pin through the zipper, zip it as far as it would go, then saftey pin to the fabric. It prevented any mishapps from happening!
So you could suggest that to him to!
Although...then he'd have to go out and buy a safety pin and that wouldn't be frugal either!
That is too funny!

That is so sweet.
Sounds like a great, wonderful, loving husband you have (and cute too from the picture!) - maybe you should make him a kilt he could sinch in - then, it would make him extra sexy to you as well! (I'm a big fan of the kilt!)

A word of caution.....
I had a former brother-in-law do something similar, but it cost him dearly - much more than the price of new britches. He gained weight the old fashioned way and was too cheap to purchase pants (there IS a difference between cheap and frugal). The constriction of the tight pants/jeans caused a high amount of acid reflux to the point where he now suffers from Barrett’s Esophagus - http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddise...etts/index.htm
So visit your local thrift stores if new clothes aren't in the budget, but please don't let this happen to him.
