Who has tall cabinets in the kitchen
I have 3 cabinets that go to the ceilings, i put stuff in them and forgot that i had them, eek.I have to get a ladder to get to them. I cleaned and redid them today and put all my xmas bowls, plates ect up there. I had flour and sugar up there, i saved the sugar, but the flour can get buggy so i pitched those.I had enough stuff up there i can make at least a weeks worth of meals, just add meat.

All my cabinets go to the ceiling but I only put dishes, bowls, etc., that I don't use much on the top shelves. My DH and DS are really tall so they get the dishes for me if I need them. DH also built me a step stool so I can do it myself if need be.

I have a butler's cabinet that goes to the ceiling. We have the tall cabinets in the pantry as well. I try to keep canned goods in them because it is a pain to get things. In the pantry I also store some of the linens up above.I am glad I have the space to store things, but I forget sometimes also.

All of my cabinets are to the ceiling. It's kind of pain since I'm only 4'10, but I have a stepstool. I still do a lot of crawling on the countertops though.
I keep stuff that I don't use very often up at the very top, like my nice china dishes, etc.McD

Every one of my cabinets goes to the ceiling. I'm only 5'2" so it's always a pain for me to get items up and down from the top shelves. I try to keep seasonal things on the top shelves so my DH can retrieve them for me.

I also have tall (to the ceiling) cabinets and I pretty much can reach the bottom shelf and if I really stretch the second shelf but forget about the top shelves!! I am the shortest in the house at 5'2 so if one of my kids or dh isn't home.........I'm not getting whatever is on those top shelves!!

Only 4' 10" also. So pretty much all the upper cabinets are to high. The stepstool really comes in handy. So does a long wooden spoon.

I *wish* I had cabinets that went all the way to the ceiling. I could use the extra storage space. I'd put my china and things I use once or twice a year up there. Someday

Good for you for getting them cleaned out and finding "loot" that you forgot you had!

Mine go to the ceiling also, but I don't have enough stuff to fill them. So I just use the lower shelves.
It sure is wonderful finding treasure you had forgotten you had, isn't it?

Hate the high cabinets, being of the short persusion like so many of you. And no one to reach it but me. I cope the same way, except my long handled spoon is plastic.
I don't have seasonal things since I don't do holidays, so I either leave the top shelves empty, or but little used things there - pretty much insuring in that way that they become never used things.

I keep a step stool on hand to reach up there keeping a notebook in the drawer helps you remember what is up there. and the man in the family can put it back all he has to do is read.
No food just things I only use entertaining
In a small kitchen I need that extra 12 inches.Meg

Being just a shade over 5 feet tall, I climb on the coutertops a lot - keeps me agile
Guess I'll have to sell the house when my teens go off to college. My son's girlfriend has parents both over 6 feet. He was talking to her on the phone and said,"Just a minute, my mom needs me to reach something." The girlfriend was totally mystified as to why one's mom would need help reaching something!!

how funny that I saw this thread now.
never had 'em before, but the little apt we are in has 'em.
I am 5'8", so I just need a little stepstool (like the kind a child uses to wash her hands) to reach up to the top.....still, kind of a pain.

Mine go to the ceiling also. I am only 5'3 and my dd is only 5'1 so we have a time on the top shelves. Actually unless the items are in the front we have to get a step to get to the second shelf. I know the people who actually built this house and they were both taller so I guess they built it to fit them.
