I totally BLEW my grocery budget this week.
I went way over on a week where I didn't even have a budget to work with! We are getting a side of beef. So that ate up this weeks budget, I had set aside for some milk, fruit/veggies and bread.
Well, I decided we were low on too many things, so I got my usual budget. Then it's our first camping trip and I didn't have anything bought in advance, so got some stuff to set up the trailer. We get home, I needed french bread, and walked out with more groceries!
LOL... so I have to take out a little that I had put in savings, it's not a huge issue, but I'm disappointed that I gave in to myself.

Don't worry you can now work harder next round. If you needed it you needed it. I'm thinking that side of beef will save tons of money in the long run.

You didn't REALLY blow this week's budget...just think of all the meat that you have~!
Now all you'll have to do is suppliment it with veggies~!

I agree. You didn't blow your budget. Sometimes you have to spend more up front to save on down the road. Blowing your budget would have been if you spent the extra now and had nothing to show for it a month from now. But instead you'll have a stocked freezer, so you did well!

I try to think that being frugal all the time means that if I "go over" occassionally, or just plain "blow it" once in a while, the good news is that it's fixable. You know what happened, you got good deals anyway, and you know what NOT to do next time. That makes it an easy problem, unlike a lot people who really don't know what happens to their money.
Next time..know that when May gets here it'll be "camping season" and have those supplies on hand.
Congrats on the cow though. It saves so much money, but it is a HUGE shock up front.

I agree with everyone else. You're being too hard on yourself. This is not a failure. It's not even a setback when you view it from the savings perspectice. Preparing for a camping trip is a whole other animal. I know.
You did great! Cut yourself some slack and suck all the joy out of your camping trip that you possibly can. Stop and smell the
