So if I start looking for a "road bike" this will probably be a pretty good all around bike? Are they listed by that name? Is the "commuter bike" not so good for longer traveling, I love the pee wee bike........what about the seat? What kind should I get for the most comfort?

Try out different bikes and find out which one is right for you... I don't know your nor your situation.. only you can decide what will work for you.
I did the 28 mile round trip commute to and from work on a mountain bike for almost a YEAR -- and now I'im on a road bike it doesn't even phase me to ride that distance because I have less friction and better setup for distance riding.

Story of my life. In 2007 we had 78000 worth of debt, and we climbed out under it, on top of paying for a surgery with cash, bought a house, had a foundation shift and $11000 in repairs later we are good to go.. then I hear the words "I'm pregnant!"
