Simple Little Yard Sale my @$$
OMG..
So I had this great idea... I wanted to "fling" a few things anyway, you know, simplify, de-clutter...
Being a thrifty little soul who really wants a Wii.. I thought I'd hold a little yard sale.
My friends thought it was a great idea.. I have a good location, etc. etc. Whoo hoo.. I wouldn't have to do it all alone..
Now it's 5 families! My lovely library is awash in STUFF, and there are little pink stickers all over my house.
Apparently they are completely unable to stick to anything I want to sell...
And completely impossible to remove from anything structural to my house! AAAAGH!
OK, I feel a bit better, thanks for letting me vent.

Poor thing!! could pink stickers be a coclor accent to your home? (just kidding!!) Hope you have a very successful sale!! Ours is Saturday and I cannot wait!!
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I am also collecting my "junk" for a street sale (11 houses) next weekend. I had a garage sale myself last year to get rid of my baby items ($400 profit) I cannot believe how big my pile is again. I have yet to even get to my attic treasures yet. Good luck with your sale, hope you get good weather.

NNNNo,No,NO. See its a simple little word. I'm sorry but my driveway is already full. Shift blame- I can't guarantee my pets will behave but sure. My husband is funny about things like this, My great aunt twice removed got into a fight w/ her best friend 40 years ago and they haven't spoken since.. Practice with me NO,. Can you tell I am not as social as some??

I can relate, I usually have a yard sale every year, but not this year. I'm too tired. I get the neighbors coming over as soon as they see the tables set up in the yard. Oh good, you're having your yard sale. I just have a few things. No tables, but they load up mine. And never ever an offer of splitting the profit from their stuff. And they never stay to help, just come by to collect their earnings. And gripe that I didn't sell it all and they need to drag it back home.

Good luck with your sale! I guess I'm the odd duck. I look forward to having our garage sale every year. Not sure why! But ours is in two weeks! I better get cracking, because I don't have anything priced yet!

I am collecting for a yardsale as well. One of the things I started doing year ago, thanks go to Dad, was useing signs for prices instead of stickers for the majority of items. Lets say - Big sign on this table .50 and mybe the other table is $2, or all kids cothes .50 except coats and jackets (which I usually hang behind me and ten I still get $1 or $1.50 on shoes or outfits because it's "a piece") or frequently on large items I will say " make me an offer and we'll talk". A lot of times people will only want to give you a pitiance (sp) of what you want and you counter and if they walk you let them. Somtimes they'll offer way more than you ever thought to ask.
Any how, just a thought.

I have found the key is that don't do stickers until everything is in the driveway! All of my stuff is piled in the garage, and I think we'll be doing ours with 2 other neighbors the last weekend of June!
It's a pain, but I love decluttering my house. Plus, we do one every spring (usually earlier than this one), and it usually pays for our summer pool passes!

Stress and frenzy are natural when you're getting ready for a yard sale; and often the yard sale itself is an act of heroic endurance, especially if you have to do it alone, and there's a heap of responsibility.
But remember that at the end of it all, you get to jingle that cash, and it's all yours, all yours.......

Tomorrow is our homeschool group's annual used curriculum sale, and I have FIFTEEN boxes of books to sell!!!
After 23 years of homeschooling, you accumulate a ton of books, and with just two high schoolers left at home, and already having almost everything I need to get them finished, it's time to place some of these resources into hands that can use them.
I need to face the fact that my 14 year old will not read 'Little House on the Prairie' until she homeschools her own brood, so out it goes!
I need to make about $400 to purchase the rest of the curriculum I need for high school. It would be terrific to come away from this sale with it!
