Spin off of Do you take things thread....
Jenibelle's thread about taking the sample things at hotels, reminded me of another question.
Do you take extra napkins, ketchup, salt, pepper etc when you get take out or fast food.
I know someone who does this everytime they have fast food they will get extra ketchup and napkins to bring home.
I don't do this, but if for some reason we do not use all our napkins or if the kids don't open a sauce (at mcdonalds) then i will take them home for later, after all it will just go in the trash if not.
So I am curious, what do you all do??Kelly

I do usually grab a couple of extra napkins & keep them in my car for DD10. We're on the go so much that it's not unusual for me to have her eat en-route (I bento for her!) & the napkins come in handy. She's also used them for tissues when we were unprepared, or she had an allergy attack.

DH drives me nuts because he always takes extra napkins for the sole purpose of putting them in his car.
I don't grab extra with the intention of using them in car. I normally only grab 2 napkins per person. But, if we don't use all that I take then I do put the extra in the glove box.
I don't keep the extra ketchups and such either. If we don't use all we are given then I either give them back to the counter person, put them back where I got them from or just leave them on the table.DD (19)

Guitly of hoarding Taco Bell sauce.
Well I can eat there for cheap and it's my favorite fast food, so when I go through the drive through, I always ask for extra sauce and whatever I don't use, I keep.
Now when we order pizza on those rare occasions, some places deliver you a ton of parmesean cheese packets and red pepper flakes and I keep them. The same with Chinese food..duck sauce and soy sauce.
My daughter works at McDonalds and she gets a free drink and brings me home the straws(they have the best straws, unlike their gross food)and she brings home her favorite sauce.
I've never saved or took napkins, salt or pepper and even ketchup.

We occasionally eat at two different restaurants that will toss a HUGE stack of "nice" paper napkins on the table and we only use 2. I bring them home because they will be trash as soon as they clean off the table. We occasionally get an ice cream cone at the drive-thru at McDonald's and they will give us a huge bunch of napkins. We use them for napkins in hubby's lunch. We also use them for cleaning our stainless steel cookware with powdered stainless steel cleaner since we avoid using paper towels.
I hate unnecessary waste.

We tend to grab napkins and keep them in the car, because like others have said, we eat in the car and use them as kleenex. I've thought about grabbing ketchup, but we just don't consume much ketchup, so I think I'd end up throwing them away.

If it comes in the bag for the drive through I keep it but I don't go in and eat then take anything extra unless we are taking a meal or something out.

Like GrainLady, I hate waste. If it's in the bag and I don't use it, I keep it to use later. I usually ask for extra napkins because I'm messy, and often need them. If I don't use them, I just save them for another occasion also. I'm not interested in the condiments packets, and don't even accept them.

Since we tend to only eat fast food when we travel I do grab extra napkins for the car because there's inevitably something to clean up during or after we've eaten. I may take extra condiments if I think we will need them, and sometimes we have leftovers which I keep, but I don't take them with the intent to horde them.

I don't intentionally grab extra anything when out to eat for the intent of bringing it home for my own use. However, if I am given extra I will keep it to use later because I have issues with wasting things.

I will only take what I need for the meal. I'm not expecting the fast food joint to supply me with my ketchups, etc. LOL
pretty funny !
