Frugal Advice of Biblical Portions

The Bible tells us to be frugal, and how to be frugal.
Two verses that often come to my mind are:

1. "In all labour there is profit, but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury."
2. "He that spendeth his time with vain persons shall have poverty enough."

LOL! Try to convince my minister of that! She thinks I don't trust God to provide! After all...frugal people can't possibly trust God to provide...otherwise, why be frugal? Right? Weird logic. The woman doesn't get it. Her husband does though. He's Dutch. He knows how to squeeze a penny!

Peanut, you'll have to remind your minister of the book of Proverbs and many more.

However, I was hoping this thread could be shared by all of those who do find counsel in the Scriptures regarding how to live, especially in regards to money and frugality.

Here are another two "frugality scriptures" for today:
"He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand, but the hand of the diligent maketh rich." Proverbs 10:4

"The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting, but the substance of the diligent man is precious." Proverbs 12:27

Thank you for the biblical reminders! I am not good with chapter and verse (and my concordance had a very unfortunate fatal accident - I need to get a new one). God tells us to be a good steward of what He gives us. As He gives us everything we have, we should be a good steward of our money. Not being frugal is like not honoring what God has provided you with, in my opinion.
