TP etiquette question
So I was helping this acquaintance with her garage sale a weekend or so ago and I go in to use the "facilities". This woman has the most luxurious TP I have ever used in my life! It's like wiping your bottom with a luxurious washcloth! This stuff is unreal!
I really want to know what it is. BUT I mean, I don't know her very well. Do you think it's a bit weird or odd if I ask her what this stuff is and where she got it? I've never used TP like that in my life!2012 Challenges

I dont think it would be weird to ask but heck I can be bold at times. Just say you know I've been buying "charmin" TP and I noticed yours was super soft, I was wondering what brand you use? Good luck!

Now,Let me just say I am an "American" but I would ask. I would say- I know this is a weird question but... I noticed that toilet paper you have in the bathroom and I was wondering what kind it was. Or you could turn on the water and quielty open the sink cabinet.. Just ask.

Of course it is Frugalfanny. HMM, the medicine cabinet, yes. I was only kidding. My DGM got caught by my mom doing that at our house one time. That and she used to check under the bed to see if my mother dusted. My mother grinned at her and she knew my mom knew...it was hilarious.

My DGM has left for the great beyond almost 20 years ago but if she looked under my beds she would screeeeech. MOre than likely one of my dust bunnies would "MEOW" and stare at her w/ gold glowing eyes. HHHeee

They now have 3 ply TP. I bet it's that.

I'd ask. I also wouldn't feel the askee was odd if the situation was reversed, would you?

If you didn't feel timid about asking us...and we're only guessing, why would you hesitate to ask her...since she knows?

Besides, since you helped her out with her work, she knows you've seen lots of personal items from her home. TP is just another common item.Last edited by Incognito; 07-13-2009 at 10:28 AM.

Thanks everyone. It never occurred to me to go through her cupboards looking for it for sure! Not done... But next time I can corner her in private I'll ask. You guys just crack me up though. I'm afraid to look under my own bed. I am not going to think what my grandmother might think of my housekeeping. It is just too distressing!

LOL Your question made me laugh, peanut. How cute are you?! I think toilet paper is a subject that shouldn't be embarrassing. I can think of a lot of other things that would be so much more embarrassing to ask about!

Well MoF, I guess I just don't know her very well...except to know she can be a bit crusty.

Under the bed? My dust bunnies could jump up and grab you if you did that here!! Didn't I hear somewhere that dust is a protective covering for furniture?
I figure it works the same for floors!
