We have bought reconditioned, refurbished, floor models, scratch and dent, you name it. We have had a good experience with all of them. For me, it is a chance to buy used with a new warranty at a fraction of new cost.

I have purchased reconditioned and refurbished small appliances and had no problems. When something is returned to a store for ANY reason, even if buyer didn't like the color, changed their mind, etc., the store can NOT turn around and sell it as new. Depending on the item, it is often returned to the manufacturer, tested, repaired, etc. and then resold as reconditioned or refurbished.

Mixed results here. Had a refurbed digital camera that worked well for years. Have a reconditioned weed trimmer that is a piece of junk.

I bought DD a refurbished iTouch last December. It came with a one year warranty, but I went ahead and paid extra to upgrade the warranty to three years. DD wore out her previous iPods in less than a year each, so I knew I would get my money's worth by buying the extended warranty.
Two weeks ago the home button went out. We sent it Fed-ex to Apple (at Apple's expense) on a Thursday and had Fed-ex at our door with a new one Tuesday morning at 9:00 am. Apple customer care is the best.
We gave her the choice of getting a new one or a refurb. She chose the refurb and has been extremely happy with it.DD (19)

I have bought reconditioned or refurbished small electronics at BigLots and have not had any problem with them. For me it helps me buy better quality products at a really good price.

We bought a refurbished dryer a few months ago and it's just fine. I figure if it works a year that gives me time to save for a new one and it was only $125 compared to $525.

I've done the washer and dryer thing before and it was fine. A few years ago someone returned hardwood floors because it was the wrong color and had a few scratches. We got a steal on it and my husband layed the floors in our kitchen and it looks great here.

Also a heavy duty big swingset for a hundred bucks that is in the process of being put up in our backyard.

Bought refurbished ipods for the kids, they love them. We've had no problems. I'll be upgrading to a refurbished ipod touch myself.
