    Default late summer goals

I have had family visiting me all summer, so i have slacked on some of my frugal ways...So once my company leaves i need to stockpile some more supplies like TP, laundry det, dish soap, kleenex. I also have to get going on what i am going to do for christmas gifts. I replaced my appliances this summer so i am working hard to pay that off it is interest free for another 11 months. In August i get three paychecks so i will be able to pay $750 on my appliances. Which i am very proud of. What are your late summer goals?

Sounds like you've got a good plan!

I guess my late summer goals are to keep on keeping on.

    Continue to simplify.
    Continue to declutter.
Continue to get that grocery budget under control.

First and foremost is to get all the loose ends tied up for the Aug. wedding of dd#2.
Go through my closet and organize to see what I need to add to get ready to go back to work.
Can and freeze the fruits of our labor in the garden.
Work with DH to get the remaining wood we need for the woodburner for this upcoming winter.
Get organized for our upcoming family reunion held the day before Labor Day.
Oh my goodness, why am I on the computer, with so much to do??

Sounds like you've got a good plan in place, Steph. My late summer goal would be to continue making progress - this is the time of year things start getting very stressful at work and it will be that way through the end of the year. I tend to revert to old "comfortable" habits when I'm under stress, such as overeating, overspending, etc. and I don't want to be doing that.

That would be same as the spring goals........to keep on making progress with my many outside projects. The progress is starting to slow way down as the heat drives me inside and I have to keep playing catch up with the weeds so they don't get out of control.

Hope to have my new grass planted by mid-Aug and the major transplanting done by end of Aug. Maybe even the recycled rubber down beside the driveway by mid-Aug...........hope....hope....hope!

    my late summer goals:
tweak budget: i have been going overbudget in groceries and spending money. something needs to be adjusted.

mend, dye, sort, and inventory this year's school clothes. i don't really need anything. i will need fresh dressy jeans in the winter

decide: another pair of teaching "dress birkenstocks" ?????? brainstorm: how can I get by without?

finish painting the chocolate brown bathroom.

my classroom is ready to set up. i want to retype some old, good lessons that i found.

    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.
