Default We inherited about thirty or more books tonight.

These are little kid books, too.

I was talking to the next door neighbor who has a 9 yo girl and 10 yo boy the other night when FIL was in town. We were discussing school stuff and I mentioned how DS5 is in the 2nd grade reading level right now. The wife mentioned to me that she had some books that her kids were no longer reading and wondered if I was interested in them. I told her that would be lovely!

She brought them over tonight and it's a HUGE pile. I'm in awe!

It's nice to have such friendly neighbors.

That sounds wonderful! My girls are older then my neice and nephew and I always pass down the books to them and my SIL loves it . She says its like Christmas to the kids when they know Aunt Kim is bringing books. I love to give them to them to.I am decluttering my house and I know they are still being loved and read.

It's funny that you said that because DS5 wants to give the books he doesn't read anymore to his new niece/nephew when she/he arrives in September. I thought it was the cutest thing ever.

DS5 has some older books that are in conditions which warrant tape, but he loves them just the same.

It's always nice to have someone to pass down books to. Books should never be thrown away imho.

The life of a book is never over as long is there is someone to read it.

How wonderful that you've inherited some new books! Books are a big deal around here...dd and I could do nothing but read all day, if left to our own devices.

I can never throw out books. It would be like cutting off an arm to me. There is always some knowledge, or enjoyment someone else can get from them.

I always loved receiving books from friends and family when my son started to read. I think that is what really motivated him to start reading on his own. Nice neighbor and I hope your children enjoy!!

We are drowning in books! But that's because we homeschool. My goodness, going into our 15th year, I have so much I need to go through. But it is hard to part with the TREASURES.....the stories my kids loved! I'll save some for our grandkids to pass down. Others, we'll share with others, I'm selling come curriculum/books, and the rest, will donate.

Books are my passion! Just ask my family! LOL
