Default I've missed you all (long Post)

Hello All I haven't been around much in about a year and a half. We had dial up internet and I could never get it to load this site. Well I am happy to say that we now have wild blue internet and I can visit the site again!!!! It is kind of pricey but its the only kind of internet I can get besides dial up and frugal village is so totally worth it. I have been trying to stay frugal without the support from the village but it has been extremly hard. We have paid off all our debt but the car and the house. We have came into some extra money over the spring because my husbands VA Disabilty got approved just in time for all overtime to be cut. God is so watching out for us. Now they are making all employees take one day a month unpaid vacation. I expect it to go to one day a week eventually. Even if they did go to that we would be ok but I am not doing a good job on staying frugal now that we have a little extra money and don't HAVE to stay frugal.Does anybody have this problem. I have no urge to go out and go back into a bunch of debt just because we can afford more payments its just that there were so many thing we did without that now that we have some money I have this urge to go out and get them. I have paid cash for everything but I'm barely saving anything. I need some motivation. This post probally sounds like our income has really increased but it is actually the less bills that has made our income more. Even with the disibalty check and 40 hrs a week our yearly income for our family of 5 is $51,000. Trust me I am not complaining. I feel totally blessed. I need to get motivated to save and to start making extra car payments, so I can be totally debt free but the house. Thanks for reading!!

Welcome back. I am all for splurging a little bit. Maybe you can set aside a set amount of your income into a "fun" fund and an equal or greater amount into a "save" fund. Use the first fund to scratch that spending itch, but only if you can continue to add into the second account. You may even make the first fund into a "save for BIG fun" account eventually, as you see the balances grow in both!
